Description
I’m looking for a new flatmate as my current one has recently moved out.
The room and study:
The room is a very light, spacious double at the top of the house, with plenty of storage and a private ensuite bathroom (shower + toilet). There is also a separate, bright study room directly across the hall that you’ll have sole use of — meaning you’ll have the entire top floor to yourself.
Both the bedroom and the study have large built-in wardrobes, so there’s lots of storage space.
The house is modern, warm and comfortable, with underfloor heating and double-glazed windows, making it especially cosy in winter. The kitchen is well-equipped with a large island and plenty of storage, and there are two freezers, so you’d have your own. Each floor of the house has its own study, so we’d both have our own workspace.
There’s also a lovely garden with plants and a patio with deckchairs, which is great in the summer. The street is peaceful and quiet, with friendly neighbour.
Local amenities:
The house is about a 12-minute walk to the sea, and just a few minutes from the shops on Portland Road (Sainsbury’s, organic food shops, coffee shops, charity shops, etc.).There's a gym a 3-minute walk from the house, and a hot yoga studio at the end of the street. It's very easy to walk, cycle, or bus into Brighton. Aldrington train station is 5 mins walk from the house, and Hove station is a 15 min walk.
Logistical:
I’m the lead tenant on the contract. You would be added as a new tenant on the existing contract, and you’ll need to go through standard reference checks with the estate agent.
The current contract runs until 7th November 2026. The deposit would be £1015.38 payable to the estate agent / third-party provider.
Monthly bills (each):
British Gas: £86.60
Southern Water: £39.60
Council tax (Band D): £102.50
Total bills: £228.70 per month
I’m happy to cover the internet costs.
A bit about me:
I work in Public Health in London and am in the office one day a week, working from home the rest of the time. Outside of work, I love walks by the sea, going for coffee, and a generally calm, grounded way of living.
This isn’t a party house. I’m looking for someone clean, tidy, kind and emotionally aware — someone who communicates well, is considerate of shared space and noise, and is happy living in a peaceful, comfortable home.
If you're interested, please get in contact and tell me a bit about yourself! :)
