Description
We're looking for a social and joyful person/couple to join us in creating a warm home where we live communally. This is not your average house share, so please read the whole ad and tell us why you're excited about the idea of communal living.
How we live:
- We’re a vegan and queer household, we eat dinner together and share cooking during the week and love brunch on the weekends.
- We split costs equally for food and bills and share responsibilities, with regular house meetings
- We make time to hang out together, be creative and long chats on the couch with tea.
- Chilled during the week and we love dancing and catching up with friends on the weekends
About you:
-You love to cook (for others) and to share meal times with others and are happy to be vegan in the house
- You want to be part of a house that has a sense of community, building a family feel and looking to really connect with each other.
- you get excited by the idea of living in a social house where there are regular visitors and guests
- Not transphobic, homophobic, racist or misogynistic.
- Happy to take on responsibilities within the house and keep a tidy home.
- Want to create joyful and uplifting moments together
The House
This is a listed first and second floor flat in Kemptown, a stone's throw from the beach. It has high ceilings and big windows, making it very bright. It has 3 communal areas: kitchen, living room and the 'mush'room (our spare room for TV and guests). There's a small balcony from the living room with sea views (a great spot for your morning coffee!). There's 1 bathroom that has a shower, toilet, bath and there's a separate toilet room. There's also lots of room for storage throughout the house. You may notice baby furniture, can confirm baby and parents will have moved out!
The room:
A very large double bedroom with a cupboard of built in storage. It is on the top floor of the maisonnette (3rd floor). Rent is £775 (same for a couple or single occupant).
The housemates:
Marianne (she/her): 27 yo 🏳️🌈 final-year PhD student at the University of Sussex studying primatology 🐒 I love going to gigs, festivals, and protests; and crochet and a Dungeons and Dragons newbie
Charli (she/her): 39yo, working hybrid - commutes to an office in Woodingdean. Into all things about saving the planet and animals, health and wellbeing, creativity.
Sometimes sociable, sometimes hermit. Enjoys trying new things. In the house likes to be clean and tidy and does experimental healthy cooking. I'd love a housemate with plants and good communication
