Description

I am seeking a lodger to share my new comfortable home, with small garden, on the edge of Lewes (Brighton side of the town), in a leafy green area. You would be sharing just with me. My house has been completely refurbished, is clean and freshly decorated.

I prefer a female lodger because this is my female household space.

Bus stop to universities and Brighton is a 5-minute walk from house. Buses are frequent. Lewes High Street is about 10-minute walk away; Lewes train station with good connections to Brighton, London, Eastbourne etc is 20-minute walk away or short bus ride + short walk.

Parking on the local street; 5-10 minute walk to get into nature and the Downs.

Double room available at end of September. It looks onto the pleasant back garden, which can be enjoyed, and a view towards the Downs. There’s a single bed, underbed storage, bedside table, desk, chair, armchair, wardrobe, chest of drawers, bookcase. All of the upstairs is newly carpeted.

The bathroom is shared; has bath, good shower, cupboard for toiletries. The downstairs WC and utility room has cupboard for toiletries, coat hooks, shelf for household items, ironing board storage, space for wet outdoor shoes.

The kitchen has plenty of room for 2 people to cook in. Has electric hob and oven, washing machine, own fridge, all the kitchen items you’d need.
Living room/dining room is spacious and bright, has round dining table, sofa, 2 chairs, floor cushions, large radiator.

The house is in a small terrace, off the road, and is well-insulated. High speed broadband being installed in next 5 days; bills such as council tax, energy and water are included. We’ll share buying of household stuff like toilet paper, washing-up liquid etc.
(Spareroom asks me to give the Council Tax band - it is D.)

Lewes is a pretty town with many amenities including an independent cinema and an art gallery; has 3 supermarkets and many independent shops and cafes.

If you think my home might be the right place for you, please get in touch and give me some details about yourself; and then we can arrange a visit and for you to ask questions.

Would suit a working person or mature student.

I’m a therapist – coaching adults with neurodivergent processing profiles and a craniosacral therapist. By nature I’m quiet but I enjoy company, so this will be a peaceful house. I work from home some days. I’m mostly vegetarian; and I don’t mind if you’re a meat eater.
I have lived with lodgers in the past and been a lodger so I have understanding and hope we can work things out together.

Interests: yoga, walking, reading, cinema and the arts, nature, spiritual awareness, our planetary predicament and how to live well by consuming less; learning to grow my own food.
