Description

This is a happy home with an easy walk to station and town centre, containing also one well behaved Collie cross dog, (who does bark enthusiastically to announce visitors and who will know if you are the housemate we are looking for).

I'm looking for one more housemate who will get along happily with the household.

The house isn't huge, so if you have a lot of belongings it may not work for you. Could well suit a Masters or international student. Current occupants include an international development student (23), a natural material construction craftsman (22) and myself and partner .

The house is lived in, and not a show house, slowly getting more chic than shabby but it's work in progress! Pictures need updating but give the general impression.
Mostly orderly and clean, even cleaner if you participate, occasionally chaotic but never for long.

There is a shared bathroom with shower upstairs, a shower and WC downstairs and a separate upstairs loo. Kitchen is shared, small but usually works in a strange harmonious dance.

We just want someone kind, and sensible really . I've hosted lots of lovely students and enjoy that, but am inclining towards having responsible adults who are interested in staying longer, and don't need supervision!

The garden is lovely and we do have dedicated parking., (quite something in Lewes), wireless internet and most things you need. I don't have a dishwasher or a tumble dryer on principle. Depending on schedules people usually do their own thing around food, which can range from raw vegan to burgers and chips or exotic international cuisine - but it's nice to spontaneously eat together sometimes.

Only one House Rule other than basic respect and consideration for others, which is 'Dont complain!". Talk to me. If I can fix something I will, if not - Help!

The house is clean but not clinically so. It's work in progress . It's not a hotel, and I'm not going to be your mum, (or the ONLY cleaner) but we all look out for each other.

It all works best when everyone has a purpose and is happy with their chosen work, and it has to be said I am fiercely protective of everyone's needs to concentrate or focus without inappropriate disruption. It's a work hard, play nice kind of a house where it's ok 4 U 2 B U.

Five minutes walk from station, five minutes walk to leisure centre, swimming pool, ten minutes walk to centre of town.

I have had to put the rent up as energy prices are rising and if everyone is at home all the time it's just necessary.

(Apparently I have to include the Council Tax band. Since this is a live in landlord situation and council tax is included it's not particularly relevant but for the record it's Tax band D)
