Description
I'm looking for a considerate, non-smoking person to rent a clean, bright, cosy double room in a friendly, calm and peaceful home, sharing with me, the owner, and one other female lodger, who doesn't spend much time in the kitchen and communal areas.
The rent includes all bills and fast WIFI. Flexible move in date, in August or July (or possibly early Sept). Short let for three months initially, with the possibility to extend.
You're someone who's happy to promptly clear up after yourself, keep your room clean, and communal spaces clean and tidy, and be respectful of quiet time after 22.30. Ideally, you work outside the home at least 2 days a week, and are pescetarian, vegetarian, or don't cook much meat at home.
Being near the universities and the Downs, the room would suit a mature or postgraduate student, a university staff member, or a nature lover. (Not suitable for people with lots of kitchen equipment, or other things that don't fit into their bedroom).
The room is fresh, clean and comfortable, with a lovely fireplace and plenty of storage. The desk is 75 x 50cm and has a drawer. There's a fitted wardrobe (two rails), fitted cupboards, drawers, bookshelf, under-bed storage and hooks on the back of the door, handy for hoodies, scarves, bags and dressing gowns.
All pans, crockery & cutlery is provided. Hire of linen and towels is available on request.
There’s a gorgeous hill view from the back of the house, and a strong shower (no bath). Outside, there's decking, patio, a pond and garden.
You can lock your bike to the front of the house, and there are bike lanes down into town, and up to Falmer. There’s free on-street parking (uncontrolled Zone D).
The beautiful Downs are right across the road, with a 2-minute walk to the corner shop, post office, pub with beer garden, and the #49 bus into town.
It's a short walk down the hill to the Moulsecoomb campus, Lewes Road’s many buses, and Moulsecoomb train station linking to central Brighton, Falmer and Lewes. From Lewes Road, it’s a quick bus ride south into town, or north to the Falmer Campus. The #25 runs all night, handy to get you home after a late night out at the weekend.
I’m a friendly pescetarian who appreciates a harmonious vibe at home. I work office hours, mainly from home, and like to get out several nights a week, and at the weekend. I enjoy singing, and getting outside when the weather’s nice.
If you'd like to find out more, please get in touch, telling me a bit about yourself.
