Description
A cosy, clean, single room in a house, sharing with me, the owner, and one other friendly considerate lodger, on a peaceful street near the Downs. Close to Brighton University's Moulsecoomb campus, and not far from the Falmer campus, for Sussex & Brighton Universities.
Would suit mature or postgrad students, university staff members, nature lovers, bike users (I'm one myself), and those wanting to be on the Lewes side of Brighton.
Available from mid March. Short lets considered, or for three months initially, with the possibility to extend.
Fast broadband (Full Fibre 900 Mbps), and a desk and chair in the room, for studying or working from home. The desk is 45 x 80cm, and the chair height can be adjusted. There's a sturdy clothes rail with shelf above and drawers beneath, an under-bed drawer, more drawers, and small cupboards. The hooks on the back of the door are handy for hoodies, scarves, bags and dressing gowns. The mattress is comfy. There's a blind as well as curtains, and the room gets the sun in the morning.
There’s a strong shower, but no bath. There's a large garden, decking, pond and a lovely view of the hills.
You can lock your bike to the front of the house, and there are bike lanes down into town, and up to Falmer. There’s free on-street parking (uncontrolled Zone D).
The beautiful Downs are right across the road. There's a corner shop and post office nearby, and the #49 bus stop going into town.
The Bevy pub is 5 mins away, and it's a short walk down the hill to the Moulsecoomb campus, Lewes Road’s many buses, and Moulsecoomb train station linking to central Brighton, Falmer and Lewes. Once on Lewes Road, it’s a quick bus ride north to the Falmer Campus, or south into town. The #25 runs all night, handy to get you home after a late night out at the weekend.
I’m a friendly pescetarian who appreciates a harmonious vibe at home. I work office hours, mainly from home, so I like to get out several nights a week. I enjoy singing, and getting outside when the weather’s nice. The other lodger works from home 2 or 3 days a week, works in London on the other days, and is into sport and travel.
The room would suit a friendly, considerate non-smoker who's veggie or pescetarian, or doesn’t eat huge amounts of meat. Ideally, working or studying full time, and outside of the house at least two days a week. You'd be happy to clear up after yourself, keep your room clean, the shared spaces clean and tidy, and would respect quiet time after 10.30pm. (Not suitable for people with lots of kitchen equipment or other things that don't fit into the room and allocated areas).
If you'd like to find out more, please get in touch, telling me a bit about yourself.
