Description
Hi. I'm hoping to share my 1870 townhouse and large garden with a bright, friendly professional who appreciates a beautiful home, good food, culture and politics, laughter and the attentions of a gentle, friendly cat! Having hosted flatmates for over 25 years from all over the world, I like to think we would share the space as friends rather than 'landlady/lodger', although as I am currently working away most weeks, the reality might be more like 'non-resident landlady/catsitter!'
Your large room is on the second-floor room (4.27m x 3.86m); is decorated in neutral tones and has two big windows with 'plantation'-style shutters (and black out blinds); sisal flooring; a large double bed with good mattress; two double-wardrobes; drawers; desk/dressing table; chair; and two bedside tables. Most of the furniture is original 1964 G-plan teak (in pristine condition), or built-in. The room is next to a large family bathroom, which would be exclusively yours except for occasional visitors using the spare room on the same floor. You would be the sole occupant of that floor most of the time.
The shared part of the house includes designer kitchen with washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave and induction cooker; large living/dining room; and another loo. (I have my own ensuite). The garden is coming along nicely, with a range of young lilac and cherry trees, raised beds, roses, pots and an especially lovely fern bank.
We're just off Bohemia Rd, less than 10 mins walk to Warrior Square station/King's Rd, and 15 mins to the sea. Lidl is 4 mins away.
I'm open to both full-time and Monday-Friday tenants (rent negotiated accordingly). The rent includes all bills; council tax; wifi, Sky TV with Netflix and Prime; and general household costs (loo paper, cleaning stuff, 'cupboard staples' etc).
I'm 57, female arts professional who regularly travels for work, so you would often be solely in charge of the house and ridiculously wonderful young cat. I'm currently working away every week, so I would be relying on you to look after the cat and the house - and the low rent reflects that responsibility.
