Large, quiet, en-suite bedroom available in beautiful home in Stanmer Village. The spacious modern property has three floors. Two children (8 and 5) live at the property half of the time. The ground floor is where the children have rooms. The 1st floor is a very large open plan kitchen, dining room, living room scenario. The 2nd floor consists of two private en-suite bedrooms. There is a real feeling of privacy and peace and quiet on the 2nd floor. The room itself is spacious and gets lots of natural light. There is a large built-in double wardrobe and a desk. En-suite has WC, sink and shower. The other bedroom on the second floor is unoccupied currently and there are no plans to use it other than as a very occasional guest room. I am a professional musician and often work away on short tours.

This is a particular and unique ‘house share’ scenario. For the past year this has worked very well for our current lodger, a masters student studying at Sussex Uni. She is happy to provide reference/recommendation if required. For the right person the setup is a perfect balance of peace, quiet and nature but with quick links to everything you need in the city. The house is in a private, gated development and effectively forms part of the north wing of an enormous 18th century Manor House. There is private parking on site. The location is stunningly beautiful, set within the South Downs National Park. The parkland, woods, walking, nature etc. are incredible and the South Downs Way is a 30 minute walk from the house. There is a train station 15 minutes walk which has regular trains to Brighton and Lewes (every 10 minutes). There is an hourly bus service into Brighton 2 minutes from the front door (25 mins to city centre). University of Sussex is a ten minute walk through the woods. The village itself is very small but boasts a cafe, garden centre, restaurant, farm shop, horse stables, museum, sauna, wellbeing gardens, and varied other interesting eco projects and similar in the surroundings. It is a uniquely beautiful place with a friendly and welcoming community. It would suit someone who loves nature and peace and quiet but who wants quick access into Brighton. Perhaps someone studying or working at University of Sussex due to the proximity. It is a 15 minute drive into central Brighton.

Preference for female is with my children’s wellbeing in mind as it is what they have been used to with current lodger for the last 12 months and 6 female live in au pairs previously.
