The living areas includes a new kitchenette with an induction hob and extractor fan (from mid June 22), combination microwave-oven-grill, toaster and kettle. The bar fridge is in the lobby but could be moved. There is no washing machine, but there is a good launderette less than 10 minutes away in Saffron Walden.
The living area also includes a TV, desk, dining table, sofa and chairs.
The ensuite has recently been redecorated. It includes toilet, shower and a belfast sink installed so its is suitable for washing up and draining dishes.
Upstairs is a spacious double bedroom with bedside tables, lamps, chair, hanging and storage space.
The upstairs, downstairs and bathroom are well heated with electric wall heaters with time switches.
WiFi, high speed broadband cable, water and council tax are included. There is a separate meter for electricity, which is paid monthly in arrears. Lodgers self-supply bed linen, duvet/blankets & towels, loo paper and cleaning materials.
The barn has a small outdoor area with sun umbrella, bistro table and chairs for warm evenings.
We live a few metres away and are a friendly hard-working couple. We'll be around in the evenings to assist if needed.
The barn is ideal for work in Saffron Walden, Haverhill, Cambridge or nearby Granta, Abingdon, Babraham, or Great Chesterford Science Parks. Public transport in Ashdon is limited to 3 buses per day. On street parking is available and occasionally there is space in our driveway.
Ashdon is 10 minutes drive from the historic market town of Saffron Walden, 15 minutes from Audley End railway station, 40 mins to Cambridge and 40 mins to Stansted airport.
The barn would also make a good home-office, for one or two people or a writers retreat.
