Description
I have a large, bright, double bedroom available, measuring around 3.8 by 3.3 meters (12.5 sq meters), in a lovely house in a pleasant quiet location. It has a new double glazed sliding sash window, black out curtains, bureau desk/bookcase/chest of drawers, wardrobe/shelving, additional small built in wardrobe/storage and newish comfortable double mattress.
There is ample storage space in the loft for boxed up stuff you want to get out the way.
My current lodger of 1.5 years is moving out towards the end of November.
I’m a 33 year old straight male, ‘live in landlord’. It’s a three bedroom house but there is only one room being rented out so you’ll have the house to yourself when I’m not around, except for a very good natured cat. Pet owners beware he loves humans but has absolutely zero tolerance for other male cats (in particular) in his territory 😅. I wouldn’t necessarily be opposed to other good natured pets but it’d have to be considered very cautiously.
The room can be furnished as above, or unfurnished if you have your own.
You have use of the kitchen, dining room, lounge, bathroom and garden. I ask that you treat the house with care, are prepared to partake in cleaning and are willing to feed/water the cat from time to time when you’re home and I’m away on trips/visiting family etc.
This is for single occupancy only but you’re welcome to have respectful guests over once or twice a week while you’re present- you can expect the same from me.
Utility bills, council tax and broadband/WiFi included in the rent at £795 per month.
The house would suit a very clean and tidy mature person who works, is calm, decent, genuine and considerate and is looking for a fairly chilled homely place, not a super social/party house type vibe- I value my sleep and headspace :)
It’s important to me that I’m around people who lead a healthy active lifestyle, generally eat fairly healthily and don’t drink excessively or smoke.
I’m always up for a chat and a bit of banter and socialising sometimes but I also enjoy my own space.
I’ve had this property for six or so years and have always rented out a room, before which I lived in various shared houses for many years so I’m very used to it.
It’s a 15 min walk to Chelmsford City centre and station (off-road through Central Park) or five min cycle the same route. It can be quicker to cycle this way than drive across town. From there it’s a 35 min train into Liverpool Street London.
There is a bus stop a few mins walk away. Corner shop two min walk, Tesco express five min walk and various big supermarkets a two min drive.
The house is an easy 30 min drive to Stansted airport.
Parking is available outside the front of the house (very quiet dead end road) for around £25 per year (residents permit).
Please feel free to get in touch to discuss,
Josh
