Double bedroom in beautiful victorian house

Price: £600 per month

Contract duration: 12 months, but could ask for a 6 month contract too

Bills: £160 on top for council tax, gas and electric, water and broadband

Parking: Resident Permit parking available on the road

Disabled access: sadly the house is old and has quite steep stairs to the bedrooms and bathroom so might not be ideal for people who need mobility access

Pets: the house comes with two gorgeous greyhounds: Ozzy and Díva. They love people so ideally I am looking for someone who is happy to share a house with dogs.

Benefits: As there will be reference checks, it would not be possible to rent to people on benefits

The house:

I am looking for a flatmate to enjoy a beautiful house with me. As the former flatmate leaves, you will have a bright, modestly sized double bedroom, which can easily fit a double bed and smaller items of furniture ( or a single bed and a desk etc) with a walk-in wardrobe, a beautiful old fireplace, and hanging shelves included. The room would be unfurnished (the bed in the picture is mine) but happy to help find/contribute to a bed, I do have a car to help get it from a good FB marketplace add if needed.

The house itself is gorgeous and spacious. You would have acess to a huge shared bathroom, a comfy living room, a spacious dining room and a big kitchen. There are plenty of shelves for you to add your touch to the house, books, plants and art are always welcome!

The house also comes with a huge garden, so if you have a green thumb you’ll be in paradise. I spend quite a lot of time in it, and I am always happy to share it with a fellow plant lover. It comes with a little garden patch too, and a sizeable shed where there is plenty of storage room.

The house itself has storage space under the stairs and in the bathroom as well.

It is just a lovely house, in a great neighbourhood too. There is a sainsbury just 5 minutes walk away, a big park nearby (Abbey Field), and the city centre is just 20 minutes walk away. A12 is also just a few minutes away for fellow drivers

Who I am looking for: If you are responsible, pay rent on time, and want a place you can call home, then you are the right match. I am looking for someone who is clean and who can respect a property. Ideally you enjoy cooking and gardening, and like having dogs around. You are welcome to smoke outside and have people over for meals and gatherings. However, if you take recreational drugs at home (weed included) and your parties are loud messy deals that last until 5 am, then this is not the place for you.

About me: There are only three things that will manage to annoy me in a house setting (and sadly as an Italian I will tell you to your face if it is the case) : drugs in the house, loud and messy parties, and people who cannot clean after themselves and do not know how to maintain a house.

Aside from the above, I am usually quite a relaxed and pleasant person to be around. I like cooking for others, gardening, go on long walks, and play rugby in my spare time. I am a big nerd who loves animation, videogames and musicals. I love reading and I am a big art lover as well, hence why there are quite a lot of pictures and books in the house. I am happy to chat with people in the house, but also happy to give others their personal space. I work from home so I am often sat at my desk in my room during the day, unless I escape for a dog walk. I love playing table games too, so if you want to learn some traditional italian card games, I am your guy!

All I ask is that the house is used as a space to be at peace from the crazy world outside, and that you give Díva and Ozzy a pat or two if they ask for it!
