Just 5 minutes by bike to the station (then 15 mins to Cambridge, 30 mins to Stansted Airport, 1 hour to London). Regular shuttles from the station to Chesterford Research Park. Lovely, easy walk to Wellcome Trust Genome Campus. 20 mins drive to Stansted Airport.

Great walking and cycling on your doorstep. A quaint village with a shop, pub and ancient church: yet with good access to both Cambridge and London for shopping and nightlife. The village hall has various activities in the evening including circuit training, badminton, yoga and Zumba. A car is useful, or you'll need a bike.

The cottage is believed to date back around 300 years and still retains some original features, including an inglenook fireplace and ancient beams. You'll be sharing a cosy lounge with your landlady, along with a separate dining room, modern kitchen/breakfast room and the bathroom.

There is a fridge, freezer, hob and oven, washing machine (no dryer but there is a clothes line in the garden). Plenty of crockery, cutlery, glasses, pots and pans, kitchen gadgets. Pillows, duvet, bed linen and towels (including a weekly change) are included. There is wifi but no TV: you are welcome to bring your own (I have a licence). I'm generally clean and tidy and am looking for someone similar.

Your room is a good size (bigger than the picture suggests), and overlooks the cottage garden. The bed is new-ish (bought in 2016), is a quality orthopaedic pocket spring bed (very comfy!) and is steam cleaned every year. The bed has a couple of drawers for storage. There's also a small 4-drawer set, a few shelves and hanging space for clothing.

I keep myself pretty busy, so although friendly, I'm not one to sit and chat at length each evening about how the day went. I tend to come home, eat and try to get an early night - so anyone who shares with me needs to be independent and not need company every evening.

In summer my cottage garden is a great place for a bbq or a few glasses of wine.

It's perfect for a clean and tidy female professional who likes country living but wants easy access to the city. Much as I love dogs, I'm afraid the house isn't suitable for pets.

The room is only available Monday to Friday (ie arrive 6pm Monday evening, leave by 9am Friday morning) but you would be able to leave some belongings over the weekend at no charge.
