Large double bedroom with en-suite shower room (& separate bathroom) in a beautiful home in the Essex countryside overlooking a gorgeous garden which sits on a river bank.

The room is furnished with a double bed, a wardrobe, chest of drawers, bookcase, small sofa and two additional chairs. Downstairs a large kitchen diner with lounge area and separate sitting room may be used by the Sharer. Washing machine and Wifi are available. A cleaner and a gardener come once a week.

Homeshare Location

The nearest station is Kelvedon (15 mins walk) from which trains run twice an hour direct to Liverpool Street and Stratford, with a journey time of approximately 45-50 mins. The nearest large town is Colchester which is just over 10 minutes away by car. The A12 is a short drive away.

The Homeshare Opportunity

This fabulous new Homeshare opportunity is perfect if you are looking to live in the countryside but with easy access to Colchester, and to London. In return, you will be providing around 10-15 hours per week of practical support to a lively couple in their 70’s, in the large garden and orchard, and also around the home.

What the Opportunity Involves:

In return for the low-cost accommodation (£199 per month), we are looking to match our Homeowners with a physically strong and green fingered female sharer, or perhaps a couple, who would be happy to provide support with light gardening tasks and some odd jobs around the house, light housework eg keeping the kitchen clean and tidy, and occasional IT requirements.

Our homeowners are a couple in their 70’s who are intelligent, interesting, independent and well-travelled. Both suffer a little with arthritis and their pride and joy is their large garden which includes an apple orchard and which they need help maintaining. They like to share their space with interesting, open-minded individuals who share their vitality and are keen to spend time outdoors and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the countryside. Equally, they like to watch TV, listen to jazz and to plays on the radio.

Our homeowners are quite flexible with regards to a sharer or potentially a sharing couple, provided they are willing and able to help with light garden work and light household duties, offering some assistance with odd jobs in the home and IT support.

Whilst more or less retired, our Homeowners have many projects with which they are involved and are keen to be inclusive as well as respect the space of a sharer. They are open to sharing time and meals with the sharer and equally happy for the sharer to maintain their privacy and eat separately if they prefer.

Having previously had and enjoyed dogs for many years, our homeowners would like to get a new dog (not a puppy) so this opportunity requires someone who loves dogs and would be happy to share responsibility for walking and caring for it when our Homeowners are away.

**Cost: £199 per month** (£350 per month if a couple).

This is a monthly facilitation fee for our matching and ongoing monitoring service. You do NOT pay any rent to the Homeowners. Bills are included, although you may be required to make a modest contribution to the Homeowners towards the energy bills, and council tax.
