Description
I’m looking for a like-minded person to share my home with me and my gentle but slightly nervous lurcher dog 🐾. If you’re environmentally conscious, animal lover, enjoy the outdoors, and have a creative spark, you’ll likely feel right at home here.
The house is modest and a little rough around the edges, but it has everything you need—and the available room is large, bright, with loads of storage. It can be offered part-furnished or unfurnished. You’re also welcome to integrate your belongings and personal style into the rest of the house; it’s important that it feels like your home as much as mine.
the house is in quiet spot close to nature—right next to a little woodland, with fields just a short walk away. We’re also just a short walk (20-30 mins) into Nailsworth town centre, with its independent shops, cafés, and strong sense of community. And if you cycle, it’s a lively, scenic ride along the cycle path into Stroud, well-known for its creative, eco-friendly spirit, buzzing markets, and arts scene. If you like stretching your legs further, we’re not far from Woodchester Manor and Tinkley Gate, with the Cotswold Way linking to Coley Peak, where you’ll find beautiful views. For the cold dippers out there, there are also lots of local wild swimming spots to enjoy year-round.
A little about me: I love gardening and also have an allotment for growing food nearby. Alongside painting and decorating, I work as a massage therapist and practice yoga—so life here has a nice mix of the practical, creative, and restorative.
You’ll be living with me (easy-going, community-minded) and my lurcher, who’s a little nervous but very loving once he gets to know you. I’d also consider someone with a dog—but it would need to be the right fit: ideally a calm, sociable dog who won’t overwhelm mine. sadly cats not welcome.
the general tone is relaxed, friendly, and respectful, with a touch of creativity and an appreciation for sustainable living. Ideally you’re also happy to join in with the general upkeep of the house and garden, so the space feels cared for and enjoyed by us both. And if you fancy, I’m always up for sharing the odd meal or watching a film together—though of course there’s plenty of space for privacy too.
If you’re someone who enjoys fresh air, shared cups of tea, the odd project, and living in a space that feels warm and collaborative, I’d love to hear from you.
