Description
I want to create a warm, intentional home in the Stroud Valley — a place where wellbeing, curiosity, and community come together.
This isn’t just about sharing rent; it’s about sharing life.
I’d love to cook together sometimes, have honest conversations, celebrate the seasons, and build a space that feels supportive, nourishing, and real.
We would find and lease a place together in the new year long term and potentially find a short term place to stay together until we secure this. The photos are of the place I was in to give an idea of what might be affordable.
You Might Be a Good Fit For This Long Term Plan If
- You resonate with the vision and values below
- You’re vegan / vegetarian (or happy for the house food to be)
- You can afford around £400-600 pcm excluding bills. This is a rough estimate based on 5 or 6 bed properties.
- You’re open to living intentionally
- You don’t have pets (the landlord’s dog next door is a bit old and can’t handle it)
Couples are welcome to apply
If you’re interested, send a message to express interest - even if you’re unsure. Worst case, we have a cup of tea and see how it feels.
My Vision and Values
Spaciousness
I want a space where everyone can relax, regulate, and have fun.
Ways I imagine creating this:
- Keeping the home calm, light, and uncluttered
- Enjoying time in the garden or quiet shared meals
- Agreeing simple systems for cleaning, cooking, and shared costs
- Possibly hiring a cleaner for communal areas
Commitment to Connection
I care about the wellbeing of the people I live with. I value open communication, kindness, and respect for boundaries.
In practice:
- Weekly or fortnightly shared dinners or check-ins
- Practising compassionate communication (NVC, Circling, - mindfulness)
- Seeing community living as something we all learn and refine
- Occasional shared outings or creative evenings
Community Leadership
I enjoy being part of the wider Stroud and Nailsworth network of good people.
I’d like the house to be a welcoming place for small gatherings or shared meals that connect us with our wider community.
About Me
I’m Martin, an Alexander Technique and pain-management coach who blends movement, mindfulness, and psychology. I’m also an occasional careers adviser for 80000 Hours.
I value calm, thoughtful spaces, enjoy good conversation, and like homes that balance warmth with stillness.
