Lovely double room in central Stroud

Lovely double room to rent in one of the oldest houses in town. Old Stroud is a lovely area very close to the top of the High Street with its independent cafes and shops. It takes just over five minutes to walk to the train station; The Bisley House and Golden Fleece are very near, and you can be in countryside within 10 minutes’ walk in three directions.

We have a light, furnished double room to rent on the second floor of the house. The room has a bed, desk and chairs, and we can add or remove furniture to suit you. The house has central heating.

We are a family of two adults (an academic and a performer) and two children. You’d be sharing the bathroom (there are two bathrooms and a third toilet in the house) and would have some shared use of the kitchen, which is a in bright, modern extension. There is a large garden out the back. On street parking is available free in the area, though not always right outside.

We can put a kettle, microwave and minifridge in the room if you’d like. We enjoy cooking and tasty food, and we’re happy to consider teaming up on meals a few times a week if that’s of interest.

We both work from home, so would prefer a lodger who doesn’t work from home.

We are a neurodiverse family. When the children are around (before and after school, weekends and holidays) things can be noisy – loud playing, shouting and waking up in the night. So the room would suit someone who’ll be unphased by such things and enjoy living in a lively household.

A small, calm dog will also soon be joining us.

The washing machine is downstairs and shared with us. We have a TV license and broadband throughout the house, and the relevant insurance to have lodgers.
