Description

🗺️📍East London: Barking Riverside is close to Barking, but on the Thames, and a very different vibe. You get the best of both worlds with riverside nature walks & just a 20 minute train to The City and 30 to Canary Wharf. Shared living room, open plan kitchen & balcony. (PS. Google maps doesn't take the C2C, then changing onto the District/Circle line into account, so may give you a longer estimate of your commute than is realistic.)

🏡🚿 Spacious en-suite room available in a 2-bed brand new flat located in a peaceful neighborhood with excellent transport links. Available furnished or unfurnished.

🙋‍♀️🐈 About me: PhD student (Psychology, KCL) plus two friendly, affectionate indoor cats. In my free time I enjoy theatre, cinema, intercultural exchange, & (student budget friendly) London exploration, even though I was born and raised in London. I’m very easy going in terms of interests and really enjoy painting and cooking. I see home as a sanctuary and am tidy and clean. I have been a lodger before in two households as well as living in flatshares as a student and whilst working abroad, so I am an experienced housemate!

💻🏋️‍♀️ Amenities: Residents' coworking lounge (free). Gym on-site (free) & leisure center with classes/pool 20 mins away by bus (£32/month for students).

🚊⛴️ Transport: 15-min walk to Barking Riverside Pier (Thames Clipper to London) & 10-min walk to Overground Station (quick 20-min to Fenchurch St/Aldgate/Bank).

💼🚗 Commute door to door: aprox 30 mins to Fenchurch Street, 40 mins to Canary Wharf, 35 mins to Queen Mary, 40 mins to Central London. 20-min drive or 45 mins by train to UEL. 45 mins to Guy's Campus, 1 hour to UCL and 90 minutes to IoPPN by public transport. Allocated parking in a gated resident carpark. Secure bike storage attached to the building.

🍹🍝 Local spots: Cafe, pizza place, & bar within walking distance.

👤❓Looking for a housemate I can get along with and do some social things with, but who also values a bit of space to chill out alone after a long day. I like to communicate openly and for you to feel this is as much your home as mine. I am happy to work around dietary requirements (kosher, halal, etc). I want home to be a cozy place for both of us!

💸👛 £300 per week inclusive of utilities (assuming reasonable usage of utilities). This comes to £1300 per month + £108.33 council tax, so £1408.33 per month.

Interested? Let’s chat! Available from 1st October. Happy to discuss weekday occupation if you will be living in London during the week and returning to your primary home at the weekend. I politely ask that you check that this room is within your budget, and that your commute from Barking Riverside is suitable for you before enquiring.

Council tax band C (+£25 per week).
