Description
I’m looking for a new flatmate to move in with me. Our contract ends on the 16th of August, and I’m planning to renew it as I’ve been really happy living here. My current flatmate is unfortunately moving back home.
Creating a good vibe at home is super important to me – I’d love to live with someone who’s easygoing, and also takes pride in the space, so it feels like a home rather than just a place we crash in.
📍 Location: Barking (Zone 4) – 2 bed, 2 bath new-build flat in a quiet, residential area mainly filled with families. The building has a secure fob entry system, and the area feels very safe.
🚌 Transport:
• Less than 2 mins from the bus stop
• 10 mins by bus to Barking station
• 20 min walk to the station
🛒 Shops & amenities:
• 10 min walk to Tesco superstore
• 15 min walk to the gym
• Asda and Lidl also nearby
Everything is super convenient and accessible, which I really enjoy!
💷 Rent: Currently £1,050 each, but the landlord has said there will be a small increase. I’m expecting the renewal offer this week and will confirm the final amount as soon as I receive it.
💼 Affordability requirement: You’ll need to be earning at least 30x your share of the rent annually (so approx. £31,500+, depending on the final amount) to pass referencing.
📦 Move-in date: End of August / start of September
🧾 Bills: Around £195 each, give or take a little – this includes everything: internet, council tax, water, gas and electricity. It’s a warm flat, so winter bills didn’t change much at all.
📸 Photos: I’ve included pictures of the flat from when we moved in and how it looks now. We bought a bigger wardrobe for the room (which my current flatmate is open to selling to the new tenant – it’s much prettier than the original!). We moved the original wardrobe to the living room for extra jacket/storage space.
We’ve made some lovely adjustments to make it feel homely – so if you like what you see, message me and we can arrange a viewing ☺️
