Description
Welcome to our little cosy home. We’re a couple sharing our lovely flat with two very fluffy, very opinionated roommates: Shushka and Pantera (cats, not random squatters). They currently think the spare room is theirs, but we’re hoping to gently evict them in favour of a human female flatmate.
The flat itself has a comfortable living room with a TV and PlayStation 5, perfect for winding down after a long day. Out back, we’ve got a large terrace with a table, chairs, a sofa and an umbrella (when it's not windy). On calm, sunny days it feels like a private holiday spot, especially with a spritz in hand. I’m a keen gardener and have filled the terrace with plants, so if you enjoy a bit of greenery (without the work), you’ll fit right in.
The kitchen is fully stocked with all the useful gadgets: slow cooker, coffee machine, dishwasher and an air fryer. Basically, if you like cooking or even just eating, you’re covered. I do love cooking for friends and family, however I am myself from Eastern Europe so my preference for food is very potato forward.
The bedroom we’re offering has a double bed, side tables, a wardrobe and a large chest of drawers. It’s bright, comfortable, and until recently it’s been one of the cats’ favourite sleeping spots (top of wardrobe) but they’ve agreed to let a human take over. The bedroom faces directly onto a park, giving you a lovely green view first thing in the morning, at night you can gaze at a lovely ray of flickering lights in the faraway buildings.
We’re also brilliantly connected for travel. The nearest bus stop is just a minute away, and will take you to Barking Station in about three minutes—or you can walk it in around nine. Barking Station has C2C, District, Hammersmith & City and Overground lines, so you can get to Liverpool Street in about 20 minutes. If you drive, the motorway is just minutes away, linking you to the M25 and North Circular. Parking is available on the street with a permit, so no stress if you drive.
For day-to-day life, we’re spoiled. There’s a small park right outside the front door, the terrace provides really nice views of the city as well, Lidl is directly across the street (so close you can see it from the window), and a corner shop just across the road for late-night essentials. Barking High Street is less than a five-minute walk, so everything you need is genuinely on your doorstep.
A little about us: I work as an EA, and my partner is in HR. We’re both professionals who split our time between home and the office, so ideally our new flatmate won’t be working remotely full-time, simply because the space isn’t really set up for it. When we’re not working, we love travelling around the UK, spending time outdoors, or occasionally inviting friends over for board games and food on the terrace. Other than that, we’re pretty quiet, easy-going, and respectful of each other’s space.
We’re looking for a female flatmate who wants more than just a room, someone who’s friendly, tidy, and doesn’t mind sharing space with two cats who may or may not try to steal your spot on the sofa.
If this sounds like the right fit for you, send us a message and tell us a little bit about yourself. Bonus points if you enjoy an Aperol spritz on a summer evening!
