Description
Hiya!! Looking for someone to fill a vacant room in a flat in Brentford, west London! it’s an incredibly spacious room and the largest of the three bedrooms that we have - going for £875 PCM. Please see my (hopefully exhaustive) description of the property below.
📄 💸 Council Tax & Bills: We’re in Band C, under Hounslow Council. Barring a significant bill increase, total bills will continue to cost around £160 per month (water, council tax, WiFi, gas & electric)
🛏️ Bedroom: The first two pictures are what ilooks like right now but anyone moving in will be provided with a double bed, the third and fourth pics are how the room looked just before the current tenant moved in over two years ago. The brown triple-door wardrobe comes with the room, as does the black desk (the one with the fan on it). All furniture can be put in storage and replaced with your own if needs be!
🍴🍽️ Dining area and kitchen: We have a lovely dining area complete with a large dining table in a shared living room/ kitchen space. We already have more than enough cutlery, plates, cups and pots and pans to go around so if you have extras just let us know and we can put whatever we don’t need in storage (see below).
🛋️ 🎮 📺 Living room: we have a TV in the living room already which I bought years ago (curved 60” Samsung Smart TV. We have Netflix, NowTV & Disney+ as well an Xbox X Series, PlayStation 5 and a Switch (Happy to share - in fact - pls be a gamer you’ll fit right in!)
🚽🛁 🚿 Bathrooms: You will be sharing a bathroom (complete with bath/shower combo) with one other person. There are two bathrooms, but one is an en-suite attached to my room.
🪴☀️ 🌱 Outdoor space: We have a private garden terrace, accessible through my room but also accessible through the main building. It’s a lovely space in the summer and I like to keep it pretty with plants! We also have space out front too, though it’s uglier and never gets used.
🧑🏻💻👩🏻💻 Flatmates: You’d be moving in with me (he/him) 30, local democracy/ news reporter & journalism Masters student. Originally from the north of England but have lived here since 2017 (also work for Pizza Express on the side & get 50% discount 😋🍕). You’ll also be living with Subin, (she/her) 32, software engineer. Originally from South Korea.
👀 👨🏻💼👩🏻💼 We’re looking for: Another young professional long term tenant (at least one year, preferably more) who is clean & tidy, cat friendly, sociable but also considerate and respects boundaries & quiet evenings. We aren’t strict about cleaning or over the top by any means (a cleaning rota would make me sick) but we try to maintain a nice level of clean & tidy ⚖️
🐈 🐈⬛ Pets: We live with one cat, his name is Taboo (we say Tabs) and he is a 15 yr old tabby cat who I adopted when he was eight.
🙅🏻♂️ Landlord*: Our landlord is very friendly but keeps his distance (no surprise inspections or unexpected visits - he’ll pop in once a year maybe). I have lived with him since 2017 across two properties. Receptive to repair requests.
🚍 🚊 Transport: the block of flats is right outside of a bus stop (E2) and is two
stops to Northfields station (Zone 3, Piccadilly Line). From there it’s 35 mins to central London. You also have the option of Brentford Station (5-7 minute walk) which goes straight to Waterloo in 30 minutes.
🚗 🚲 Parking: The building has an underground car park complete with bike store which has a lock and key. One parking space is assigned to our flat but niether of us drive.
📦 Storage: We have, and I cannot stress this enough, lots of storage. In the basement of the building we have our own locked storage area where we have tons of stuff stored free of charge.
🌳 🍻: Neighbourhood: We’re slap bang in the middle of two lovely and (I have found) queer friendly areas, Brentford and Little Ealing. We live next door to a pub (The Globe), but have never had any noise complaints or issues with punters. We’re also a short walk from several beautiful parks including Boston Manor and Gunnersbury, as well as being down the road from Brentford town centre which was recently redeveloped - and now has many more nice pubs, restaurants and shops.
❓🧑🏼🦽Questions & ACCESSIBILITY: Please feel free to ask anymore questions you might have afterwards 😌 viewings available whenever.
The flat is on the ground floor with an intercom system. There are no steps from the street to the flat. There is a lift to the car park. The bathroom is also on the ground floor. There are no steps anywhere in the flat. You can access all other floors of the building via the lift, including the basement where storage space is based.
