**NEW HOMESHARE OPPORTUNITY - £240 per month**

We are delighted to offer a new Homeshare opportunity for a sharer to live comfortably and affordably in north London in return for providing some practical support and companionship to an easy-going older man in his mid-80’s.

What the Homeshare Involves:

In return for low-cost accommodation (£240 per month), we are looking for a kind and compassionate sharer who can offer a few hours of practical help and companionship each week, along with a reassuring overnight presence in the home.

Our homeowner is in his mid 80's and was widowed in 2025. He moved to the UK from Trinidad in the early 1960s with his late wife and he worked for Royal Mail throughout his career, while his wife was a nurse. He has a close and loving relationship with his children, who all live locally and visit regularly.

Our homeowner has painful knees which affect his mobility, and he no longer leaves the house. He lives downstairs, using the living and dining areas, which open onto the kitchen extension, and has access to a downstairs toilet. The upstairs bathroom is accessed using a stair lift when supported by the carer. At night, the living space can be separated so the sharer has easy access to the kitchen.

A carer visits twice daily, once in the morning and again in the late afternoon and assists with washing and dressing, and meals and helps keep the downstairs area clean and tidy.

During the day, the homeowner enjoys watching television (sport, quizzes and the news), listening to music, and resting.
He is an easy going, gentle and good humoured man who enjoys a calm and quiet life. He would love to share his home with someone friendly and considerate who is happy to offer a bit of companionship and light practical help in exchange for peaceful accommodation.

Who This Would Suit:

The ideal sharer will be someone who can be around sometimes late afternoon /early evening (5-7pm) midweek and a bit on the weekends, who can share some time chatting with the homeowner or watching tv.

Practical support might include:
• Offering a cup of tea and friendly conversation
• Putting on a favourite programme, sport or music
• Putting the bins out
• Watering plants
• Occasional local shopping
• Turning lights off in the evening

This Homeshare would suit someone who is kind, relaxed and understanding of older people, and who enjoys a homely, calm environment. This is a lovely opportunity with light expectations in return for nice accommodation in north London, in a supportive family environment. No personal care is required or permitted.

We are looking to match this Homeshare opportunity very soon. If it is of interest, please get in touch with us preferably by email, telling us about yourself, your work/study situation, and interests, and particularly why you consider that you would be well suited. Thank you.

**Cost: £240 per month
This is a monthly facilitation fee for our matching and ongoing monitoring service. You do NOT pay any rent to the Homeowner. Bills are included, but there is a small monthly contribution for bills and council tax (approx. £60pm).

We are a social enterprise facilitating Homeshare matches across London and surrounding areas. We match people who live alone and need some practical support and company, with mature adults wanting affordable accommodation who are happy to provide some companionship and practical support in return for a safe place to live. No personal care is permitted.
