The house is located in a safe and well-maintained development close to the Thames with restaurants, shops and the amenities of Hampton and Kingston (and Kingston Hospital) nearby.

Hampton station is 7 minutes’ walk with frequent trains to Waterloo (40 minutes) picking up the District line tube en route at Wimbledon. Beautiful green spaces at Bushy Park and Hampton Court gardens are within 20 minutes by bus.

The Homeshare Opportunity:

We are delighted to offer a wonderful new Homeshare opportunity to live very comfortably and affordably in a lovely part of Richmond-upon-Thames in return for providing some daily companionship, practical support and a reassuring presence at night to a warm and sociable lady in her early 90s.

In return for the low-cost accommodation, (£249 per month), we are looking to match our interested and gregarious Homeowner with a very kind and outgoing, Sharer who is happy to provide some practical support with online or local food shopping, a bit of cooking in the evenings and some household chores such as putting the bins out or getting things from the high shelves.

This opportunity is primarily about companionship however and providing a reassuring overnight presence. (Our Homeowner had a stroke last year, and her mobility is a bit limited, but she is well supported by carers who come in the mornings to help with practicalities, and she likes to be independent). No personal care is required or permitted in a Homeshare.

Our homeowner is a very friendly lady in her early 90s, and while she can be a little forgetful, she is chatty and interested in people. She has a very close family and lots of visitors and she has enjoyed sharing her home previously.

She was an actress during her career, a singer and dancer, and later worked as a social worker. She is still interested in the arts and enjoys watching theatre shows and good tv dramas as well as Strictly!

The ideal Sharer will be female (it is the Homeowner’s preference that they are around 30 years+), someone who may be working or studying partly from home (rather than someone in a full-time job outside the home) who is happy to share some companionship time at home in the evenings and to have a chat about their day.

This would suit someone who is kind and gentle who would enjoy having a chat over a cup of tea, sharing dinner together in some evenings and watching tv.

Clear spoken English is a priority as our Homeowner is a little hard of hearing.

Our homeowner has a cat so the Sharer must be happy to live with a cat. Unfortunately, other cats are not welcome.

**Cost: £249 per month**

This is a monthly facilitation fee for our matching and ongoing monitoring service. You do NOT pay any rent to the Homeowner. Bills are included, although you may be asked to make a modest contribution to the Homeowner towards the energy bills, and council tax if you are working.

We are a social enterprise facilitating Homeshare matches across London and surrounding areas. We match people who live alone and need some practical support and company, with mature adults wanting affordable accommodation who are happy to provide some companionship and practical support in return for a safe place to live. No personal care is permitted.
