AFFORDABLE accommodation offered in Kingston Upon Thames, London, KT1 area, excellent opportunity for a homesharer who is looking to live in a beautifully modernly decorated two level apartment.
We are a Not-for-Profit charity in London who run a Homeshare programme, where we find Homesharers who are willing to provide approximately 10 hours a week of help/support and companionship to a householder who has a spare room.
TRANSPORT
• 15 min walk to Surbiton Rail Station (fast trains).
• 15 min walk to Kingston Rail Station.
• Bus stops 2 min walk with several buses to both stations and town centre.
HOUSEHOLDER
A gentleman in his 50’s, live in a very spacious, modern, 3-bedroom apartment on two levels in Kingston Upon Thames, London. He has had several surgeries in the last 10 years and as a result he is less mobile and tires more quickly than the average person.
He enjoys going for his regular morning walks and usually has breakfast at a café along his walking route. Is interested in cooking, reading watching films, playing golf (but now just 30 min practice due to fatigue), listening to music and has an interest in technology.
The ideal homesharer would be a kind and friendly male or female, is 24+ years old, somebody who is calm, tidy and can help with some domestic household chores, cooking and some shopping. It would be nice if the homesharer would cook an occasional evening meal or as he is a keen cook the homesharer would assist him with to cooking/preparing meals and clearing up after. The householder and his family would feel comforted and reassured knowing there would be somebody at the property in the evenings and overnight.
Welcomes a smoker or non-smoker but NO smoking in the property.
Someone who is nice, caring, understanding, kind and compassionate, tidy, and is socially outgoing that can be flexible. Can offer some low-level companionship at times but space when required.
Someone who will be able help prepare some of their evening meals or assist with preparing meals.
Will consider applicants working from home 1-2 days per week.
He has a cleaner once a week.
ACCOMMODATION
A very spacious, modern, 3-bedroom apartment on two levels. Downstairs are two bedrooms and a large bathroom. Upstairs is the kitchen/lounge area with access to the spacious outdoor space, the householder’s bedroom and bathroom.
The lounge has a large television.
Good WiFi connection throughout.
The Homesharer will have the street facing double bedroom room on the first floor consisting of a double bed, small balcony, under bed storage and a wardrobe. The homesharer will have exclusive use of the bathroom which is opposite the bedroom. (the bathroom may be shared with the occasional overnight guest/visitor).
Use of shared lounge and kitchen dining and outdoor space.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
The room is available subject to DBS, Reference, Credit and ID checks and after an initial homesharer interview has been organised.
