Description
The Room:
Recently decorated, the bedroom is fully furnished with a double bed, wardrobe and desk. If you don’t need the desk to work from home and would prefer, I’m happy to swap it for a chest of drawers for extra storage.
The Flat:
A spacious home that is clean, tidy and kept fairly minimalist. There are two bedrooms, a bathroom, a living/dining room and a well-equipped kitchen with a gas hob, oven, full-size dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer. There’s also access to a shared garden, a garage (with some storage space), and free parking.
The flat is on the top floor of a quiet block of 12 – there’s no one above and no shared walls with neighbours, so it’s very peaceful.
The shared spaces are already fully furnished and set up for day-to-day living, so the flat would suit someone who doesn’t need to store much in communal areas. However, I have cleared out some cupboard space in the hallway for use if needed.
The Location:
On a river road, just a couple of minutes from the Thames. Maple Road (with pubs, cafes, restaurants, and a monthly farmer’s market) is at the end of the street. Surbiton Station is a 10-minute walk (15–18 min fast trains to Waterloo) and Kingston is also nearby. Richmond and Bushy Park are close too.
About Me:
I’m Katie, 33, and I work for an arts charity – usually three days from home and two in the office.
I’ve lived in this flat for coming up to five years and I’m looking for someone friendly and easy going to share with.
I’m sociable, into gigs, the outdoors, cycling, art and design. I’m often out and about, but I’d love to live with someone who’s up for hanging out sometimes, cooking together, sharing a drink or watching a film, while also respecting each other’s space.
I like a relaxed and calm environment. I have friends over every so often, but not all that regularly and it’s not a party place - I’m looking for someone who’s on the same page.
I mostly work from my room when I’m home, as I find it’s nice to keep the living area as a shared, clear space to unwind in.
Although I own the flat, I would really want it to feel like a home for both of us — not a landlord/tenant vibe, but a friendly, respectful flatshare.
