TRANSPORT
• The location of the property is within a 5-minute walk to the main road. With regular buses to either Pinner or towards Hatch End (also close by) and Harrow/Wealdstone.
•.18-20-minute walk to either Hatch End overground Station, which is on the Euston – Watford Line or Pinner Station, which is on the Metropolitan Line.
HOUSEHOLDER
A lady in her 90’s, originally from South Germany, who lives in a 4-bedroom house in Pinner, with a one-bedroom flat attached in Pinner, Harrow, London.
This lady has a close-knit family consisting of four adult children, all of whom live in London, between 30 minutes and 1 hour’s drive away. They check in with the lady daily by telephone and visit as much as they can, but would feel happier knowing that someone is around for peace of mind. She has eleven grandchildren whom she speaks to regularly on the phone and who also visit.
She has a rheumatic condition, and though this has slowed her down a little, she still is able to walk and is very keen to go on walks, even on her own, though she has lost some confidence. She is eager to keep a well-maintained and spotlessly clean home.
She used to work as a wine consultant, selling German wine, and still likes to have wine with her meals when in company.
She is very independent and enjoys her own space and privacy. Likes walking to the local shops daily, if possible, and has lunches with friends who visit. Attends church on Sundays when possible. Enjoys watching television and is keen on gameshows and historical dramas, as well as reading, though her eyesight means this is not as easy as it once was for her.
She has recently been diagnosed with polymyalgia rheumatica, which can affect joints and muscles and a patient’s ability to move easily in the mornings. Is currently on a course of medication, which is keeping her condition at bay. This means she can shower and dress herself in the mornings – she is very particular about her own appearance, as well as keeping the house clean and tidy.
The ideal homesharer would be in their 30’s+, kind and friendly, who can integrate with her and check on her regularly but also respect her privacy.
The homesharer should show initiative in looking to see what tasks in the house need doing (tidying, clearing and maintaining the garden).
Someone with patience in talking to her, due to her deafness, but preferably with an excellent sense of humour.
She has a carer who visits daily, for an hour each morning. She would like the homesharer to also check the home and keep it tidy, but does not expect deep cleaning.
It would be nice if the home sharer could occasionally cook lunch or share an evening meal – but again, she is very independent and likes her own company.
The rest of the time, the help will be discussed and agreed upon at the first meeting.
Her family would feel at ease knowing there is someone nearby their mum in the evening and at night.
ACCOMMODATION
A flat attached to the side of the house, with a bedroom with a small double bed, bathroom, kitchenette and living room.
The flat has a separate side entrance via the back garden of the house.
There is wifi in the main house.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
The room is available Jan 2026, subject to DBS, Reference and ID checks and after an initial homesharer interview has been organised.
