I'm looking for a longer term tenant but would consider 6 months to see how you get on with boat life. Sublet could start as early as June 2026 but there is also flexibility on start date.

Location:
The boat is moored permanently in a private houseboat community/marina in West London (Ealing Borough). It's only 15-20 mins walk or 6 min cycle to Southall Station which is served by the Elizabeth Line service taking you directly to Paddington, Bond Street, Tottenham Court Road, Liverpool Street etc. and many other locations across London. The boat is NOT moored on the main canal and is NOT accessible by the general public. We're a friendly, tight knit community who tend to look after each other.
About the boat:
The boat is a static widebeam (not a narrowboat) and has been spray insulated, fully re-fitted and decorated in a cosy but minimalist nordic/scandi style.
Main Living Area - Has a fold down dining table/work desk and two seats, a small two person sofa, bookshelves, fold out drying rack and woodburner stove
Kitchen - kettle, fridge, separate freezer, brand new LPG gas cooker with oven/grill/gas hobs, toaster. Sorry no microwave!
Bedroom - Double bed with firm foam mattress, chest of drawers, blackout blinds, large mirror
Bathroom - Sink, bath, shower, Thetford chemical toilet, heated towel rail
Outside - Private garden including patio area with table and seating, lots of plants and trees, is well shaded during summer and decent amount of privacy/not overlooked
Communal shared facilities - gated private towpath, laundry room/postal room, 2 x washers and 2 x dryers, 'normal' shore toilet, chemical toilet discharge point
Bills/Utilities -
INCLUDED = the monthly rent includes council tax, Fibre Optic Internet, "reasonable usage" for mains electricity, mains water
NOT INCLUDED = LPG gas and wash tokens you will need to pay for as you use them
About you:
Would prefer you are an employed professional, would suit someone working from home (we have fast broadband), however if you are a responsible/mature student coming to London, we wouldn't rule that out either.
Am happy to consider a couple but be warned, it can be a pretty small space to share.
The commute into London is very reasonable but since the boat is such a nice place to spend time - it might suit someone who works from home or only needs to commute a few days a week. Bicycle is useful getting to and from Southall station.
The most important thing you probably need to know is that the boat doesn't have a 'normal' flushing toilet. Instead is a Thetford chemical toilet which you need to physically empty about twice a week. If the thought of carrying and disposing of your own waste products makes you squeamish, then this probably isn't right for you.
For the right person/couple this could be a really wonderful home to get away from the hustle and bustle of London.
