Large double room with en suite

This light and spacious loft room has its own en suite bathroom. You have the top floor to yourself which is great if you want privacy.

There’s wireless broadband internet access, and your room is furnished with a double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, mirror and dressing table (or desk with chair – you choose). Also, for cosy seating I can give you an armchair if you'd like it or a bean bag or both! There's a large, shared kitchen-diner on the ground floor.

This is not exactly a house-mate situation: you are a lodger and you share the kitchen for cooking and eating, but your main living area is your room. So we overlap a bit rather than co-habit!

Transport: the house is just 5 mins’ walk from Fulwell mainline station with trains every half hour to Clapham Junction and Waterloo. Kingston is a 10-min train ride away and several buses go to Richmond. And Twickenham is 10 mins by bus or bike.

Local shops and parks: there’s big Lidl 8 mins’ walk away, as well as other shops and cafés in easy walking distance in nearby Hampton Hill village and Teddington town centre. Bushy Park with its wild green spaces and roaming deer is 10 mins’ walk from the house.

My situation: I’m an empty-nester – my adult daughter has graduated uni and left home. I run a small business from the house Mon to Fri 8am to 6pm. I have another lodger in a smaller room who stays part-time (he’s here alternate weekends and is away during the week).

Your situation: you are a professional person who works full-time at your work location (i. e. you don't work from home). This is because I work from home (with people coming and going through the house) and so you need not to! Obviously when you have annual leave, we’ll work around each other. You need to have an enhanced DBS certificate or be willing to get one (this is a requirment of the company for whom I'm working - as I work from home).

The price includes broadband and bills – however, if you have a car, you’ll need to get a resident's permit to park on our street. (Or you can park in the next street parallel to this one – where there are no parking restrictions.)

This is a lovely room in a friendly, colourful, house that would suit a busy person who values peace and quiet in the evenings.
