Description
🏳️🌈 The room will not be available until the early October 2024 - 3 months to 6 months - Possibly longer but still unsure to what my plans are for next year.
Excuse the essay... If it was me, I'd kinda wanna know as much as possible, before I make any decision to move in with someone, especially a stranger, plus this way no one is wasting their time :) I'm also happy to grab a coffee or drink to see if suits each other before any decision is made....
Anyway.... The apartment is based in a prime location situated in Ancoats, (cutting room square). It's probably one of the most desirable neighbourhoods to live in the city centre. While it was voted in the top 10 neighbourhoods in the world according to the New York Times and placed at 33 in Timeout magazine, but is it a cool and safe neighbourhood.
It's close to good transport links, Manchester ring road, surrounded by quite bars, wine bars, coffee shops, restaurants and Rudy's pizza, plus Hallé St Peter's concert hall which also as a great della and coffee shop just facing the apartment ... while pure gym, Aldi and Manchesters Northern quarter are all within a 5 minute walk, including the city centre.
Nearest Tram stop would be Piccadilly gardens 8 minutes walk.
At the back of the Apartment you will also find the new regenerated Islington Marina, with lots of green spaces, picnic area, on a trendy canal strip with a couple of bars, coffee shops, wine bars and a funky bakery, again all 5 minute walk away, which is always busy during the summer months.
Manchesters gay village is around a 10-15 minute walk, if that. While Manchester Victoria and Piccadilly train station are both within a 10-15 minute walk and Manchester Uni is about a 30 to 40 minute walk if that.
The apartment over looks the square, which is always popular during the summer months and it's a great place chill weather permitting
The square does stay busy during the summer months until around 10'ish, after which its quiet and peaceful, even though the apartment is in a central location there is no traffic noise neither, and its not surrounded by tall buildings... plus it get the sun in the evenings.

BIT ABOUT ME:
I don't mean for this to sound like a personal ad, I would just like find someone suitable, were it suits the both of us and not two people simply sharing accommodation with nothing in common. I'm more about the vibe, then simply finding anyone for the sake of it.
- I'm originally from West Yorkshire, I've lived and worked in Manchester City Centre for the last 20 years, I’m sociable, Probably more towards introvert and enjoy my own space/company at times, and quiet nights in, but equally like hanging out with others and I enjoy going out in town on my nights off.
Hoping to live with someone who’s open minded, sociable, happy doing their own thing, but equally happy living together and hanging out at times. It would be nice to make another friend out of the experience if we are going to be possibly be living together...
- I'm Gay, although I don't make being gay my entire life, although I do tend to go the village if I do go out or I do end up down there towards end of the night, but I enjoy all aspects of city living, but equally I love the great outdoors too.
- I'm very laid back, friendly, easy to live with so I've been told, totally down-to-earth and open minded. I'm naturally a quiet person but I'm very out going once I become comfortable, Although I do enjoy my own space and I respect and appreciate that others also like their own space too.
- I do smoke, but “I do not” smoke in the apartment, only in my room next to the window, so it won't be an issue and its doesn't effect the rest of the place, if that's a concern. If you smoke that's fine, but next to window and not inside the apartment.
- I like to keep the place clean and tidy, but also liveable at the same time, and someone who's also going to treat it like their home, and not temporary accommodation.
- I enjoy going out and I’m a social drinker, I don’t party like I used too, but that's only due to my shift pattern, However once the night is over, I like home to be home and call it a night. "No after parties" back at the apartment.
- I work full time ( 5 in and 4 days off), Professional, and I currently work nights (9PM until 7.30AM) However, you don't have to worry about tip-toeing around or making any noise, it really doesn't bother me
- If I have worked the pervious night before, then spend most of day sleeping until around mid afternoon, then I usually like to hit the gym before I start work (That's if I can be ar*sed that is) and my days off also change weekly... to be honest you'll pretty much have the place to yourself...
I like to keep my circle small, and I have a group of really good friends that are both straight and gay from all walks of life that now all live outside the city centre, So I usually like to catch up with them in town on days off or I go back home and visit my family too.
Other interests also include: travel; holidays; wild camping; mountain biking; backpacking, nature, hiking, working out; cooking, healthy eating but I love a good take away now and then, and all the usual city stuff, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, cinema .. and the odd show or theatre
There have been occasions where I’ve randomly booked flights in the evening and gone the following day, then returned the same evening... went to Venice for a coffee once.
I also enjoy Science-fiction; films; writing; sight-seeing; design; architecture, shopping; interior design; fashion; festivals; club events; comedies; mythology; being active; the natural world; techo; trance and dance music; Netflix; Sunday roasts; nights out; late night coffee; ancient history; arts and crafts; archaeology and stand up comedy
I don't really watch much television at all to be honest, and I tend to only just watch Netflix, documentaries, or stuff on YouTube... I also enjoy watching foreign or Queer Cinema, with the odd deep philosophical chat here and there too. I’m big geek at heart.
Ideally it would be nice to share with another guy, I don't care whether you're straight or gay/queer just as long as you're LGBTQ friendly, and you're not a wreck-head ... Someone grounded, who enjoys all aspects of city living,
I don't care what you're into or what you do, just as long as you're sound and open minded... I've lived with gay flatmates since moving to Manchester and in terms of lifestyle it what I'm kinda of use too or comfortable with.
I enjoy going out, but once the bars and clubs close I like home to home, I don't mind pre-drinks before heading out, but if you're the kinda of person that likes to host after parties, or house parties every weekend or every other night, then it won't be suitable, its not want I'm looking for
- Ideally someone who isn't going to be occupying the living spaces working from home everyday
- Considerate of the other residents and neighbours, in terms of noise.
Okay I may have gone a little bit above and beyond with this whole spare room ad but hey, least you know a bit about me. I think it's kinda worth knowing about someone before you y'know decide to live with them :)
If you have any further questions or would like to know any more send us a message with a little bit about yourself, and I'll do my best to answer everyone and due to my work pattern I may not be able to rely straight away :) Cheers people, if not, happy hunting x
