Description

Hello! I'm Matt, a 30-year-old full-time lecturer at University. I'm looking for a like-minded, (preferably queer) professional roommate to move in on the 21st of May, as my current flatmate will be moving out on the 20th May.

The flat is a modern, 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom, 4th floor flat on Great Ancoats St. right across from CloudWater brewery, and just around the corner from New Islington Metrolink stop and Piccadilly Station. There is a decent gym on-site, and there is a garage/car park - though spaces are extra arranged through the building company.

I'm currently occupying one of the two double bedrooms (bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers included), with an ensuite. The double room up for grabs has an identical shower room / bathroom just across the hallway, which will be all yours! (I’ve ticked en-suite because it would be your own private bathroom)

As I'm working full-time, I'd like someone I get along with to relax when I'm at home. I'm into card, board and video games; so nerdy folks would be ideal. I'm a musician, but I'm always respectful when practising at home. Most nights I will be out at the gym after work, cook then play some video games, watch TV, or get on with some freelance engineering work. I teach design and 3D-printing, so if our hobbies line up that'd be ace! I love going out on hikes and walks, so it'd be cool to have someone I get along with to join in :)

I do have a partner, so there will be a guest occasionally; though again we are very respectful of people's personal space. I would like someone who's clean and tidy, and I would be happy to cook for you now and again!

The flat is in Council Tax band C - which means £171/m (£85.50 each). Gigabit internet is currently £44/m (£22 each), and electricity is currently £100/m (£50 each - although this may come down as my current housemate uses a lot!)

I am still waiting on hearing back from the Landlord about the deposit changes from the new Renter’s Rights bill, the current deposit is £1010, but note it should be less with the new changes 😊

Happy to meet up for a coffee or drink, and see how we get on before showing you the flat :)

*Apologies for the stock bedroom image - my flatmate is still living here until the 20th of May, but the picture is of the same room :) He currently has 2 desks and a set of shelves in there, on top of the double wardrobe, drawers and double bed; so there's plenty of space!
