-- FLATMATE HAS NOW BEEN FOUND BUT KEEPING AD UP TILL CONTRACTS ARE SIGNED. Responses will be limited --
NOTE: rent rises to £600ppm in April and then £650ppm in October.
Hey there!
My flatmate is moving to London at the end of the year so I’m looking for a new flatmate for our lovely 2 bed apartment in Castlefield.
About the flat: it was completely done up 2 years ago before we moved in so it's quite modern (smart motion bathroom lights and all) and in really good shape. The kitchen space is pretty huge which is great if you like to cook (as I do) and its quite nice having the breakfast island for that extra space too.
Your room is more spacious than the pictures look, and you’ll have an absolute ton of storage through all of those cupboards. You’ll also have your own bathroom (as per the pics), it’s just not directly connected to your room, as I have an en-suite in mine.
The landlord is private and they live in a neighbouring building within the same complex so are just a stone’s throw away if we need anything. We haven’t at all yet in the two+ years we’ve been living here though
The rent doesn’t include bills and council tax etc. Recently, electric has been averaging around £33ppm, water around £10ppm, council tax is ~£104ppm (but we pay 10 instalments per year for this so really its ~£87; Band D) and internet is £15ppm (we’re on Hyperoptic currently and it’s great). So all in all (including rent) looking at about £700 per person per month.
About me: I’m 26. I moved to Manchester ~4 years ago after doing Economics at to Uni of Warwick, and I was living in Hong Kong before that. I’m currently working as a data scientist and go into the office most weekdays (we get free food so it’s a bit of no-brainer). Aside from work, I like to stay pretty active: I try to go to the gym 3-4 times a week, play football/tennis/squash/cricket/pool/snooker/yoga occasionally during the week and love a good hike on the weekends. I still quite enjoy the odd night out, and do like to host the occasional pre-drinks (maybe once a month). Also like to have friends round a couple of times a month on the weekend for a chiller games night/order in situation. I like quite a few board games and am currently quite into Catan and Risk.
I like to keep things quite clean and am a respectful housemate and hope you would be too, and this is a great segway onto the final bit of this long description
Us as flatmates: If any of my interests sound interesting to you that’s awesome, and would be great to have a pal to do some of those things together. I’m a relatively social person and have a nice group of friends in Manchester and it would be nice to introduce you to and hang out together.
If that’s less of your scene that’s totally fine. I live a pretty busy life so would be looking for less drama at home. Would like to have a clean place, share chores (ideally without having to have any sort of rota) for the common areas, and generally just be respectful to each other.
If the above sounds good to you then great, respond to this ad and I can give you a proper flat viewing and see if we get along! Move in date can possibly be a little flexible.
