Description

Lovely double room available in 2-bed bright, spacious 2nd floor flat in quiet part of Chorlton.

I’m coming to the end of my PhD and my flatmate has moved to London, so looking for someone to take on their room.

I’m an easygoing, friendly person looking for someone clean and tidy. I’m also Scottish! I’m a sociable person and I’ll love to hear about your day when you get in, will be up for the odd movie night and so on, but also I like a bit of privacy and sometimes need downtime alone. I have been living here for 4 and a half years, but I want the space to feel like your home, so I’m up for talking about the layout of communal spaces, and I’d love if you have things you’d like to bring like art for the walls. I don’t drink alcohol and I don’t go on nights out, but I love spending time with my friends so I go out quite a bit to socialise and exercise. I also do a mixture of working from home and in the office. I love coffee, football, and taking walks down the river, so you’ll be welcome to join those if you like!

I used the room as a study to finish my PhD, but the sofa, bookcase, lamp, and desk will be removed for your move-in. The wardrobe will stay. The landlord will purchase for you a divan bed with drawers for additional storage. A double bed fits wall to wall with room for a bedside table and decent floor space. A single bed will allow more space. You can choose whichever you like based on your preference.

There is easy access to a big shared garden, which is great for sitting out in the summer. There’s also free parking for residents, and a shared garage where you can store a bike.

Shared living room with beautiful big windows out onto greenery, always really filled with natural light, shared bathroom and kitchen with all your usual appliances - I’ll provide storage space in each of those rooms again so you can make the space feel more your own

10 min walk to Beech Road, 15 mins to Chorlton/Stretford tram stops, close for 23, 25, 150, 85 and 86 bus routes

As I mentioned I love a coffee and we’re blessed here with Smoak, Sipp and Cap all in easy walking distance

Council tax band B. I am a student until at least May so you will get single person discount.

Utility bills approx £70-120 a month, depending on energy usage (cheaper in summer, more expensive in winter). I am not including council tax in those estimates.

The landlord is a local resident who has been great over the last few years, quick to resolve issues and generally understanding. They’re a big part of the reason I’ve been happy staying here so long.

I recommend a viewing, ideally in person, to get a feel for the flat, surrounding area (nice and green), and to see how we might gel as flatmates. I’d love to get to know a bit about you and also give you the chance to ask any questions you might have. ☺️
