Description
Hi, I'm Jan, a 33 yers old guy working remotely in marketing, currently living with my flat mate who is moving out at the end of November, so I'm looking for a new flat mate or a couple :)
Please don't get put off by the randomness of the decor, or lack there of - I've been living here on a tight budget, and I'm not too fussy when it comes to aesthetics, but I'm happy for you to change things to accommodate your taste :)
The price for the double room is 800 with all bills included - water, electricity, gas, fast broad band, and council tax (band A), with heating on all the time from the end of summer till spring.
If you are a couple the price would be 900 between the two of you. The room is furnished with expandable IKEA bed with drawers so you can enjoy both large comfortable bed and extra space when needed, there's also a desk with a chair and a lamp and a wardrobe - you are welcome to use those, or bring your own if you prefere - just let me know so I can tuck them away :) The room is upstairs and orientated to the west, so you will get decent amount of sunlight most of the year.
We also have a small sunny back yard that I like to use for a bit of gardening and DIY but with plenty of space left for chilling, including a hammock chair, perfect for the purpose. We also have a set of kettlebells for communal use if, like me, you like working out at home.
We have brand new washing machine and dryer, electric oven that was bought last year and a gas hob, large and small fridge freezers to fit everyones food, and a cupboard each, for all the dry ingredients, spices and whatever else you might want to store in the kitchen.
I am also happy sharing my pots and pans if you do not have your own, theres is also plenty of plates, bowls, cups and cutlery available for everyone.
There is a living room with couch and dining table - we do not have a communal TV at the moment, but you are welcome to get one either there or into your room. The bathroom is upstairs and has a bath with gas heated shower, sink and toilet with bidet, and some storage for bedding.
We manage the cleaning by dividing the house in to three sections - kitchen, bathroom and hoovering/mopping the floors, and we swap them between each other every week to stay on top of it and have some variety in chores but I am happy to discuss any variations of it that have worked for you in the past.
The house is located near bus and tram stops, with plenty of local take aways, restaurants and pubs, there is also Aldi, home bargains, iceland and sub way and greggs minutes walking from us.
We also have a small park round the corner, with Clayton vale and canals also in walking distance. We are also spot on 20 minutes on a tram from the city centre, and 20 minutes from Ashton so you can take advantage of facilities that both of them offer, and have an easy way to nip out to peak district :)
I value personal connection with people i share space with but i also value personal space, as I'm neurodivergent and my social battery needs regular recharge ;) Apart from English I also speak Polish and Russian and understand Ukrainian.
I like playing gusli, cooking, and a good chat over a cup of tea, glass of wine or a walk in nature.
Please let me know if you would like to come and see the flat, or if you prefere a whats app walk around.
I hope this description gives you a good idea of the house and me as a person but please feel free to ask any questions you may have.
Thanks!
Jan
