Description
We are Karen and Paul and we are offering a large double room in our five bedroom Victorian home on a Mon - Fri basis. The room is on the top floor of our three storey house, and has its own recently refurbished bathroom with large walk-in shower, next door. This bathroom would be for the exclusive use of the lodger, except for the very rare occasions when we may have a family member visiting mid-week.
The room itself is furnished with a good quality double bed, new double wardrobe and large chest of drawers. A flat-screen TV is also provided and there is a small wash-hand basin and vanity unit in the room. There is plenty of additional space for a lodger to add their own desk, arm chair etc if they wish to.
Rent to include all bills.
The house is well maintained and decorated throughout. There is a large basement kitchen which would be available for the lodger to use as required. There is also a washing machine in the kitchen which would be available to use if needed. There is a well kept garden at the rear of the house, which makes a lovely area to sit out in in the evening (weather permitting!)
We are perfectly located for public transport into Manchester city centre or in the other direction to Stockport, Hazel Grove and beyond. The house is literally a two minute walk to the bus stop for the 192 bus route in either direction, making it ideally placed for travel to any of the Central Manchester hospitals or to Stepping Hill hospital, and Heaton Chapel train station is less than a ten minute walk away. From here frequent trains run into Manchester Picadilly station, a journey of less than ten minutes. Trains also run from Heaton Chapel station to Stockport, Buxton and even London. To travel even further afield the drive to Manchester airport takes approximately 20
minutes.
We are a few minutes walk from the centre of Heaton Moor with it's great range of shops, bars, pubs, cafes and restaurants. We even have our own cinema - the famous Savoy!
We are looking for a responsible, respectful person who is requiring week day only accommodation. Ideally someone who has their own permanent home in another area but who is working away from home during the week. We would prefer to let the room to someone who is office-based ie not working from home, and working a regular 9-5 type pattern.
As we are both retired or working towards retirement, we don't feel our home would suit someone who is looking for a wild mid-week social life! We both have a lot of hobbies and interests and an active social life, but the late-night party years are (mostly) behind us. We are friendly and enjoy a chat, but equally enjoy our own private, quiet space just as we would respect that of any potential lodger.
