Description
I have a small-ish, furnished double bedroom ideal for someone who regularly needs to be in Manchester a few nights a week (the listing is £150/week for 5 nights, but I'm happy to revise it to suit circumstances, need, etc.). Council tax is Band A if you stay enough nights to need to contribute to it.
It'd maybe suit a PhD student, academic, or someone else working away from home. Pescatarian/veggie/vegan and LGBT housemates preferred.
There's a double bed, bedside table, some under-bed storage, a cupboard with shelf, and a small wardrobe. You'd obviously be welcome to leave stuff here over weekends! There's a small shared bathroom, with a shower that requires stepping into the bath. The stairs are pretty steep between the ground and first floor.
The room is in a Victorian terraced house, with a dining room, lounge, and large kitchen/utility space. There's a yard for sitting outside when there's warmer weather, with a lovely tree.
Transport and local area: Buses run every few minutes from the end of the road to the city centre (the journey takes 15-25mins), with some going direct to the university campuses. The train station is a 5-10min walk away, and there's a local library, pool and gym just across the road. It's a great area for cafes, LGBT-friendly bars, local shops, etc., and there's a nature reserve nearby.
House vibe: sex-worker positivity, Palestine solidarity, community and political organising. Trans rights are not up for debate. Needs arising from neurodivergence and disability are important to address. No one is 'illegal.'
About me: I'm a researcher/writer interested in film, history, the environment, and various other nerdy things. I mostly work from home (which sometimes means working from my partner's home, so I'm back and forth a bit). My partner is here a few nights in every couple of weeks, and sometimes visits with his teenage daughter. I'm into dance, long walks, geology and zoology, reading, and competition-based reality TV shows involving almost any kind of craft. Interactions with greyhounds are guaranteed to bring me joy. I'll be leading a pretty quiet life over the next few months as I'm (meant to be) writing a book.
