About us and the house
We are four professionals who genuinely enjoy living together and have built a relaxed, social household. We spend a lot of time together and it really does feel like a little family. We have a growing board game collection, plenty of sporting equipment such as badminton and rounders, and often head to the park just across the road. We also enjoy creative hobbies and spend time crafting or sewing when the weather is less inviting.
We are very animal friendly and currently live with a golden retriever called Kepler. He is an exceptionally gentle and affectionate dog and very much part of the household. Josh and Jahla have a lovely black cat Doja that you will see around the house.
The house itself is spacious, comfortable and well looked after. There is a large open plan kitchen, lounge and dining area, plus a separate lounge and a downstairs playroom that often becomes a cosy evening chill out space. As it is an older house, the walls are thick and the rooms all have fire doors, which makes it work particularly well for shared living.
The house is extremely well equipped. Each communal living space has a smart TV and shared game consoles. We are big food lovers, so the kitchen is very well set up. The communal areas and garden have Philips Hue lighting throughout, and the main doors have smart locks, making the house both secure and convenient.
The garden is a real highlight and includes a fire pit, hot tub, vegetable garden, greenhouse, outdoor kitchen, trampoline, zip line and secure bike storage.

About the children and the arrangement
A slightly unusual but important part of our household is that we have two children, who will be around 4½ and 1½ during the stay. Our son has his own room on the first floor, and the house is arranged so that family life and shared living sit comfortably alongside each other.
The shared areas are adult spaces and function as they would in any other shared house. We are relaxed parents and there are no additional house rules because of the children. Guests are very welcome, and we regularly host social evenings and celebrations.
This is a short term and flexible arrangement, roughly between late March and early May, although exact dates can be discussed. During this period, Jess will be travelling, which is why we are looking for some additional childcare support.
The room is offered rent free in exchange for around 12 hours of childcare per week. The exact hours, duties and schedule are very open to discussion so that we can agree something that feels fair and works well for everyone.
All household bills are included, including utilities, council tax, internet, streaming services and contents insurance.
