I am a junior doctor and in August im moving to Australia for 12 months to work. I own my home, and my current housemate loves it so much she wants to stay on while I'm away, we just need a second person to fill my room and help me cover the mortgage costs. My flight leaves 5/8/15 but I could always stay wih friends for a short while if someone really had to move in sooner.
The house is in Rusholme/Fallowfield, just behind platt fields park - not the worlds MOST glam, but described by estate agents as a "popular tree lined street", and within easy distance of both the City Centre and Didsbury on the super close 111 bus route.
There is on-road parking, the house is fully furnished and had a cute rear garden with table and chairs to enjoy the summer sun trap!
The room is pale purple, has a king size bed with a luxury mattress, double chest of drawers and enormous (~2. 5m) wardrobe (it's a BIG room) with a wall mounted flat screen TV and DVD player! Shared bathroom (simple white 3 piece) and semi-open kitchen / diner / lounge with hard wood floors throughout.
My two cats will be staying on, and my current housemate will take care of them. They are both very affectionate and have unique personalities!
My current housemate, Amy, is a PhD student and new to Manchester last year but has made lots of friends and gotten to know the City well. She's clean, tidy and considerate wih no crazy parties or shenanigans. This year we've gotten to know one another well and enjoy going for coffee / brunch, the theatre or cooking for one another! I'm sure you'd get on with her sterlingly!
