I am looking for a clean, reliable, and friendly lodger to share my 2-bedroom house in Openshaw, Manchester. The room is available now.
I am a warm and welcoming person who enjoys meeting new people and absolutely adores dogs. I currently have a rescue dog named Dobby and am a foster parent, with plans to potentially adopt a second dog. I am happy if you have pets, as long as they get along with Dobby. My ideal lodger will not only be comfortable around dogs but genuinely appreciate their companionship, as there could be more furry friends in the house!
A bit about me: I love going to the theatre (and usually have a spare ticket so feel free to come along!) going to Home/Factory International for exhibitions, enjoy cooking and eating out, and I’m an avid reader. I am passionate about learning languages—I speak French, Spanish, and Italian to varying levels, along with a bit of Polish and Russian, and I’m keen to learn more. I work four days a week as a chartered accountant and also run an Instagram blog. I love to sing, so you may occasionally hear me around the house (apologies in advance!). I am sometimes sociable and enjoy good conversations, but I also value quiet moments to recharge. I don’t drink alcohol, but I’m perfectly fine if you do. I don’t smoke or do drugs, and while I don’t mind if you smoke, it must be outside the house.
The house is located in a quiet residential area, close to essential amenities. Within walking distance, you’ll find shops, a gym, and various food outlets, including Morrisons, Lidl, Greggs, B&M, The Range, Specsavers, Costa (though my Nespresso machine might become your go-to!), Marco Reas Diner, Farmfoods, and Savers. Florence House Medical Practice is just a 30-second walk from the house.
For commuting, Edge Lane Metrolink station is a 15-minute walk, providing easy access to Manchester city centre and beyond. The 219 bus stop is just a 2-minute walk away, offering another convenient transport option.
The room comes furnished with a desk, a wardrobe, a dressing table, a bookshelf, and other small amenities. It includes access to a shared bathroom, as well as a downstairs WC. You’ll also have access to a shared kitchen and living room. The advertised rate is based on a short-term let, but a lower rate can be negotiated for longer-term arrangements.
I am open to considering couples, with an additional £50 per week added to the rent. The rent covers all bills, including gas, electricity, water, broadband, council tax (Band A), and fortnightly professional cleaning of the entire house. We’ll still need to work together to keep the house tidy between professional cleanings.
