Over to the other side of Prestwich you have Heaton Park.

Manchester City centre is 3 miles away.. There is a bus stop 2 minutes away going directly to Manchester or Salford and the metro/tram is a 25 minutes walk.
M60 Junction 17 is less than 2miles away.

Prestwich village has a Tesco, M&S and Aldi store as well as an organic health food store
