Description
Hi there! I’m a 33-year-old gay, trans man looking for a housemate to share a cosy bungalow with me in Reddish until 29th May 2025.
Room available due to my husband and I breaking up.
The bungalow has two double bedrooms and a single room that I currently use as a dressing room. There’s also plenty of storage space in the attic. I have a back garden with a medium sized outbuilding where I’ll set up my office and chill space, leaving the living room as a shared area for both of us to relax and socialise, I’m more than happy for this to be mostly your space.
The house has one bathroom with both a bath and shower, and two gardens. There’s also a large driveway if you have a car.
Your room will be a double room with a bay window, at the front of the house. The room will come unfurnished. Roughly enough room for a double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, TV etc.
We’re well-connected with regular buses just a 3-minute walk away, taking you to Stockport and Piccadilly. Reddish North train station is a 15-20 minute walk (or a quick 5-10 minute drive), and from there, Manchester Piccadilly is just 13 minutes by train.
Post office, pharmacy, convenience stores, takeaways, and a large Morrisons all within a 5 minute walk.
Rent is £450 per month each, excluding bills. With utilities (including internet) and council tax, the total would likely be around £700-£800 per month each.
Council tax band is C
You will need to pass the letting agent checks before moving in as I’ll be renewing my tenancy with someone else.
A few things about me and what I’m looking for:
- I have a friendly 7-year-old Labrador, so dog lovers are a must.
- I’m 420-friendly, sex-positive, and looking for someone who’s queer and shares left-wing values.
- Ideally, you’d be over 25 and in full-time employment (though I’m open to discussing other situations if there’s guaranteed income).
- Good communication and openness
- Tidiness is appreciated, I’m not looking for Kim Woodburn but you would be expected to clean up after yourself
- It’d be great if you enjoy gardening. I’m not very green-fingered, but we have two gardens that could use some love!
- Open to you bringing your own pet providing they are fine with dogs and well trained - this will need to be discussed with my landlord
A couple of things that wouldn’t work for me:
- Right-wing views (including Tory, Workers Party, or Reform supporters) aren’t a good fit.
- This isn’t the place for frequent parties or having lots of friends over regularly, as I work full-time and value a peaceful home environment.
- That doesn’t mean you can’t be social, friends, family, and partners are welcome to visit within each others boundaries
- Significant amount of drinking or hard drugs would not be a great fit
- I’m happy to live with a vegetarian or vegan, however I do eat meat so if that would be an issue for you this sadly isn’t the house for you
My hobbies and interests:
- Dungeons & Dragons
- Video games
- Buffy the Vampire Slayer
- Queer History
- Coffee shops
- Psychological thrillers
- Nostalgic 90s TV
- Pokémon
- Museums
- Steven Universe
- Musical Theatre
- Camping
- LARP
- Disney
- Most music genres but especially rock
- Movie nights
- True Crime
- Binge watching shows
If this sounds like a good match, send me a message!
I’ll be wanting to chat a little with you over video call to figure out if we’re a good fit. If we gel then I’ll give a little tour of the house before any decisions are made.
Move in date to be discussed.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
