Description
Looking for a new flatmate! Current flatmate moves out 10th June. With new rules, 2 months notice is needed to leave.
Hi, I’m Lucy, I’m half German, half English, 32 and I moved to Manchester in August last year. If we enjoy living together, I am looking for a longer term flatmate.
My favorite genre of music is Afrobeats, I love to dance. I go to Made Run Club, swimming & random other activities, mostly through ClassPass. I would like someone who sometimes wants to cook together, sometimes watch movies together but mostly wants to be independent. I like to have friends over but during the week I have a strict 10pm bedtime and as the flat is small, this means quiet is needed - sorry! I sometimes socialize on weekends but I don’t drink alcohol. (On a rare occasion I might have a cocktail but that’s it) - I would prefer someone similar!
I work 8am - 5pm, Monday to Friday, I like to get 8 hours of sleep minimum. The bedrooms are next to each other.
You would have the larger bedroom, with the en-suit bathroom! The other bathroom is therefore mine and if you have guests over, please make sure they use yours 😌 there are also spaces downstairs you can book for parties (like a kitchen/living room area) so our flat should only be for close friends please 😄 as there are no locks on the doors, except the bathrooms so I would like to foster a relationship of trust and care for each others spaces. I prefer to keep my bedroom door open, even when I am not in. This place is ideal for corporate creatives!
Some pros and cons of the place:
Pros:
You have the larger bedroom
Wardrobe, bed (with mattress left by my old housemate), drawers and bedside tables come with the room
Storage space under the bed (though I currently keep the Christmas decorations in your bedroom)
En-suite bathroom with 2 shower heads (jealous, mine only has the overhead 🥲)
Large windows
Beautiful, large gym downstairs
Yoga studio downstairs
Coworking space downstairs
Free WiFi downstairs
24hr concierge
Podcast room downstairs
Pool table and ping pong downstairs
2 outdoor terraces with sitting space and flowers
Active & positive building group chat
Sainsbury’s local downstairs
Walkable, along river, to Lidl
Walkable to Arndale
Most people in the building are here less than a year so there’s a sense of community
Lovely kitchen and dining room area - large fridge, small freezer, microwave, oven, I recently bought a cute toaster
There is a dishwasher but I try not to use it unless I cook a larger meal
Shared lounge area in corner of building so we get 2 views
Washing machine with dryer inside - I don’t love the drying settings so I bought a very large clothes drying rack to use instead
I have a bath in my bathroom so if you’re a bath person, you’re welcome to use it if you leave it clean and I can use your bathroom while you’re in there haha
Cons
Windows only open or close, no tipping
Next to a busy road (but windows are pretty good at keeping noise out)
The Eagle Pub can be loud on Sundays sometimes
Council tax band D
Currently haven’t set up any WiFi as I just hotspot from my phone or go downstairs to the Coworking space
Don’t have a living room TV but would love to get a large one together if you don’t either !
Next to a building site - so far haven’t had any noise at night but some on Saturday
Basic kitchen items only
Not too much extra storage so not idea for anyone with LOADs of stuff
I am the main tenant for the letting agency and you’d be moving in as my occupant - there is a £50 registration fee.
The deposit is £2000 (sorry wouldn’t let me change) can be paid to me. It’s 2 months rent as the new rules require 2 months notice to leave. I want someone who I can trust to be clean, respectful and on time with payments please!
Bills are NOT included and unfortunately I have no estimates on how much they are as I’ve only lived here since August and am still working it out for myself.
Overall I am a generally positive person, very open-minded and honest. Ideally I am looking for a flatmate and friend where we can create a home together that we’re comfortable in and a support network for the tougher times.
If you’ve made it this far, please respond to my ad with the word Sheep and a little about yourself and what you’re looking for. Please also mention when you’d be available to view the house and when you’re looking to move in.
FYI - for now I want to stay here but eventually I’d like to move to a building with a pool, if you’re interested and we get on well, it would be great to do this together!
Thanks!
