Description
Looking for a new flatmate! Lease ends 10th December but probably looking to extend. Do not need immediate references but if you want to extend with me, we’d need to go through the references process properly.
Hi, I’m Lucy, I’m half German, half English, 31 and I recently moved to Manchester. My current flat mate had to leave the country on short notice so I am looking for someone to help with the rest of the lease (until December 9th) and if we enjoy living together, potentially longer term.
My favorite genre of music is Afrobeats, I love to dance. I recently joined Made Run Club. I would like someone who sometimes wants to cook together, sometimes watch movies together but mostly wants to be independent. I go to the gym downstairs about 3 times a week. I pole dance. I sometimes socialize on weekends but I don’t drink alcohol. (On a rare occasion I might have a cocktail but that’s it) - I would prefer someone similar!
I start my new job soon & will work 8am - 5pm, Monday to Friday, I like to get 8 hours of sleep minimum so I would prefer someone who is not loud in the evenings. The bedrooms are next to each other.
You would have the larger bedroom, with the en-suit bathroom! The other bathroom is therefore mine and if you have guests over, please make sure they use yours 😌 there are also spaces downstairs you can book for parties (like a kitchen/living room area) so our flat should only be for close friends please 😄 as there are no locks on the doors, except the bathrooms so I would like to foster a relationship of trust and care for each others spaces. This place is ideal for corporate creatives!
Some pros and cons of the place:
Pros:
You have the larger bedroom
Wardrobe, bed (with mattress left by my old housemate), drawers and bedside tables come with the room
Storage space under the bed
En-suite bathroom with 2 shower heads (jealous, mine only has the overhead 🥲)
Large windows
Beautiful, large gym downstairs
Yoga studio downstairs
Coworking space downstairs
Free WiFi downstairs
24hr concierge
Podcast room downstairs
Pool table and ping pong downstairs
2 outdoor terraces with sitting space and flowers
Active & positive building group chat
Walkable to Sainsbury’s local
Walkable to Arndale
Most people in the building are very new so there’s a sense of community building
Lovely kitchen and dining room area - large fridge, small freezer, microwave, oven, I recently bought a cute toaster
There is a dishwasher but I try not to use it unless I cook a larger meal
Shared lounge area in corner of building so we get 2 views
Washing machine with dryer inside - I don’t love the drying settings so I bought a very large clothes drying rack too
I have a bath in my bathroom so if you’re a bath person, you’re welcome to use it if you leave it clean and I can use your bathroom while you’re in there haha
Cons
Windows only open or close, no tipping
Next to a busy road (but windows are pretty good at keeping noise out)
The Eagle Pub can be loud on Sundays sometimes but they are talking about the noise levels with the council as the residential building is new
Council tax band D
Currently haven’t set up any WiFi as I just hotspot from my phone or go downstairs to the Coworking space
Don’t have a living room TV but would love to get a large one together if you don’t either !
Next to a building site - so far haven’t had any noise from there but I don’t know when they will start building - but I assume it wouldn’t be at night or on weekends so probably will be okay, unless you work from home?
Basic kitchen items only
Not too much extra storage so not idea for anyone with LOADs of stuff
You need to have a steady income to be approved by the letting agency & there is a £50 registration fee.
The deposit can be paid to me, so that we’ve paid half each. I want someone who I can trust to be clean, respectful and on time with payments please!
Bills are NOT included and unfortunately I have no estimates on how much they are as I’ve only lived here since August 1st and my previous housemate paid them up until now.
Overall I am a generally positive person, very open-minded and honest. Ideally I am looking for a flatmate and friend where we can create a home together that we’re comfortable in and a support network for the tougher times.
If you’ve made it this far, please respond to my ad with the word Sheep and a little about yourself and what you’re looking for. Please also mention when you’d be available to view the house and when you’re looking to move in.
FYI - I am considering moving to another building, similar price but with a pool in December, if we get on, would be amazing to register for that together!
Thanks!
