Large (4m x 5m) double room in attic conversion. In addition to the double bed, there is a sofa, a writing desk and chair and wardrobe.
The room has two Velux windows, so there is lots of natural light.
THE HOUSE
A traditional terraced house built in 1885. Downstairs there is a front room and a kitchen, on the first floor there is a bedroom, office and a bathroom and the spare room is in the attic conversion on the 2nd floor.
There is a lot of storage space available for a tenant in the house (over 5 cubic metres, not all in one place).
I have a large library of books, which a tenant is welcome to borrow.
There is currently no TV in the house, but there is a TV licence covering the property.
In the kitchen the cooker and microwave are brand new.
THE LOCATION
The house is located on a fully pedestrianised street off Chesham Road in the Walmersley area of Bury.
There is lots of free parking around the house. No-one I know has ever had a problem parking.
Clarence Park is a 2-minute walk away. This is a huge park, and once through to the other side of it, it is possible to walk for miles, for example, to Ramsbottom.
TERM
Start with a monthly-rolling 6-month contract in order to see if we are compatible, then potentially increase the term after this period.
The rent will increase by the CPI inflation rate once a year in January (starting January 2026). The CPI inflation rate is currently approximately 2.5%.
All bills are included in the rent.

My name is Martin and I am 42 years old. I have my own business teaching English, focussing particularly on students with Russian as their first language. I work from a co-working space in the centre of Bury. I am a very keen chess player and play for a couple of teams. Thanks to chess, I developed an interest in Russia when I was young. I can speak Russian well. I consider myself to be an intellectual and love to read.
REQUIREMENTS
I am looking for someone who is responsible. An interest in intellectual conversation would be a bonus!
