Description
I've got a lovely double room available in my house in Cwmcarn, a small village right next to a huge forest in the South Wales valleys. The room has a king size bed and a desk, and the view from the window looks out over the rolling valleys. It's a really quiet street with parking available. The nearest train station is Cross Keys, about a fifteen minute walk down the canal. There's a bus too, though it's not the fastest.
The village itself is small but has a really good pub that puts on live music and events, a cute little cafe, and the forest is a short walk from the front door. If you like nature, wildlife and being outdoors, you'll love it here.
A bit about me and the house. I'm Jenna, I'm in my thirties, originally from Bristol, and I've lived here for over three years. I work from home and it's completely fine if you do too. I'm vegan, politically very left and green, a feminist, and pretty eco conscious in how I live. I think about where things come from, buy secondhand where I can, and I'm not someone whose doorstep is piled with Amazon boxes. I'm into art, crafts, comedy, indie films, and I'm currently really enjoying running. I go for long walks in the woods every day with my dog Poppy. My boyfriend lives in Bristol and visits every other weekend or so.
I'm looking for someone who actually wants to live here rather than just somewhere to sleep. I'm not saying we need to be in each other's pockets, but I'd love to share the occasional meal, maybe go for a walk or a swim together sometimes, and generally be companionable while also having our own lives. There's a big table that's great for jigsaws, board games, and cooking together. I'd really love to live with someone who shares similar values around animals, nature, and wanting to live thoughtfully.
The house is peaceful and calm. It's definitely not a party house, but having people over with a bit of notice is totally fine. I like things reasonably tidy but I've also got ADHD, so I'm not obsessive about it. There's a cleaner who comes fortnightly, and bills are included. You'll have access to a dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer, and there's a little garden that gets the sun.
Poppy is a Border Collie with a big personality and she lives here full time, so you really do need to be a dog person. I've also got three guinea pigs. Unfortunately I can't take on any other cats or dogs as Poppy isn't great with them, but smaller pets like fish are fine.
I'd prefer to live with a woman or non binary person. If you think this sounds like your kind of set up, drop me a message and tell me a bit about yourself.
