Quiet flat close to city centre, off-road parking

Hello, I'm Jules!

I'm looking for someone relaxed and friendly to rent the spare room in my lovely off-road flat in Freemantle.

THE ROOM:
It's a small double room overlooking the sheltered communal garden. It's currently unfurnished with built-in wardrobe and shelved cupboard. You can bring your own furniture or I would be happy to furnish it for the right person. There's room for a double bed and side table and there's also room for a desk or chest of drawers under the cupboard.

We would share the bathroom, kitchen and living space (more details below).

LOCATION:
The flat is walking distance from the city centre, only 10 minutes from the train station. There's free off-road parking outside. It's close to the main road out of Southampton towards the motorway to go north or south west into the New Forest.

We're not far from Shirley High Street; there's a great Co-op 10 minutes walk away and a couple of local convenience stores within minutes.

There's also a cute park round the corner which I didn't find until I'd been here a year!

THE FLAT:
It's not on any roads so the flat is really lovely and quiet and the neighbours are all really chilled.

We're on the middle floor of a three-story block, sharing the entrance with five other flats.

There's communal green space on the front and back of the flat.

My favourite thing about living here is the big open-plan kitchen and living room which is light all year round because it's south-facing and has multiple windows as well as a cute little balcony. One of the kitchen counters overlooks the living room which I love because you can stand and chat while cooking or making tea!

The kitchen has plenty of space and everything works perfectly. There's a washing machine.

The bathroom is small but perfectly-formed with a shower which always has hot water!

BILL ETC:
I arrange and pay for all the bills - electricity, water and council tax (band B) as well as superfast Virgin broadband. I don't own a TV but I do pay for a TV licence, mostly so I can watch live sport.

I would consider getting a cleaner so that we don't have to worry about boring things like hoovering rotas!

The shared entrance and gardens are all maintained by a property company, which is also included.

NB: The bills will go up in October in line with the rise in fuel bills. Exact amount TBC.

ME:
I'm self-employed and work from home a lot of the time but I go out every day and I am away a lot at weekends.

Live music, yoga and salsa dancing are my main passions. I'm pescatarian (I eat fish but not meat) and I'm not much of a drinker but I'm happy for you to do you.

I have a boyfriend who is here some weekends but rarely during the week because he's not local. He's a professional foodie so whoever moves in might be treated to the occasional lush treat!

YOU:
I'd like a housemate not just a lodger; someone who wants to make a little home for themselves and is good company at the end of the day. Ideally you're independent, out and about, as well as warm and friendly.

I don't mind what you do for a living but it would suit better if you're not working from home full-time so we're not under each other's feet.

Other than that, I'm open to all walks of life... if you're lovely, that's all that matters. :)
