Description
Large double room in a quiet, relaxed and clean house. Fully furnished, lots of storage space and all bills included.
The house itself is now 125 years old and has lots of original charm; tall ceilings, exposed floorboards and working open fireplace. I have completed all the renovation work myself over the past 10 years, originally an engineer by trade, I keep the property and it’s contents well maintained. The house has a fully equipped kitchen with extra cupboards and fridge space, a dining room and a separate sitting room, so plenty of communal space available for two people. Large bathroom with full size bath, decent shower and washing machine.
Very good-sized and relaxing rear garden that catches the sun all day. Tidy patio area, lawn, patio furniture and bicycle racks. It’s a nice place to wind down.
- Fast fibre-optic broadband
- Free on street parking
- 10 minute walk to nearest train station
- 15 minute bus journey to city centre
- 25 minute walk to city
- Quick motorway links
The location is ideal with the above transport links. I am a lecturer at a college in the city centre and it takes me under 10 minutes to get to work by bicycle. There are a couple of handy slipways located nearby too, if you’re into water based activities. Perfect for launching a kayak or SUP.
The local area has some great history with the Supermarine Spitfire being produced just down the road in Woolston, back in the late 1930s. The English Heritage site of Netley Abbey (built in the 13th century) and also the beautiful Royal Victoria Country Park are both within easy cycling distance and make for a nice ride along the shoreline, with lots to explore along the way.
Local pubs are aplenty, along with the recently developed Centenary Quay, which houses various bars and restaurants etc. and only a short walk away. There are ample convenience stores and also a Lidl just down the road. Everyone loves a Lidl.
My current lodger of 3+ years has relocated and the room will be available from around the middle of December. It will have a deep clean and a fresh coat of paint before this. I am looking for a clean, tidy and respectful person to share the space with.
Please contact me if you have any questions and to arrange a viewing =)
Thanks for looking!
