Double room, Lyndhurst

We are in a fairly unusual position.

I started Uni in London last year, having taken a gap year in 1981..
Steve works most of the time in and around London as an Editor and has commuted for the last two decades. We have now found a flat in London, so we live there most of the time, returning home whenever we fancy.

We are happy for someone to stay Monday to Friday and will reduce the rate to £150 per week. This is a short term let only as our son is coming back to stay on August 1st.

The room is a bright fully furnished first floor double room with views onto the forest and allotments with an ensuite bathroom/shower room. Most of the time you will have exclusive use of the bathroom, but it does house the only bath in the house,

There is plenty of hanging and storage space in the bedroom and you are welcome to add a desk if you need to work from home.

It is a family home, with all the chaos that goes with that. One of our grown-up children comes home to live from time to time and the other one drops in to stay when they are coming back to visit friends, but a lot of the time you will have the cottage to yourself.

Driving

Southampton General Hospital 10-12 miles depending on the route

Royal Hampshire County Hospital 20-22 miles depending on the route

Salisbury District Hospital 19-23 miles depending on the route

20-30 minutes drive to Southampton
30-45 minutes drive to Winchester
5 minutes from junction 1 of the M27

Train

4 miles from Ashurst New Forest train station – free parking at the station (don’t tell everyone!!) with regular trains to Bournemouth and London Waterloo (and all stops on the way)

We built our home 20 years ago on the edge of Lyndhurst. The garden opens directly onto the forest so you may have to negotiate your way round the ponies to get into your car.

Parking is on the road, next to the house.

We have some undercover/lockable storage for bikes.

Shared family kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier.

Shared living room with a long burner and massive smart TV (Steve’s gift to himself)

There is a very small garden but big enough to sit out. We look out over the green and from there we have direct access to the forest.

All expenses including Wifi and use of usual household appliances such as washing machine are included.

We may be willing to accept pets.

There is a lovely village pub five minutes walk away and village centre is 10 minutes walk away.
