Description
My name is Jay and I am currently looking for a buddy-up/flatmate for the next year until my lease runs out. I am originally from Cape Town, South Africa and I am going into my second year in the country.
The property I rent is a 2 bed with 1 bathroom (shower and bath) and spacious living room. The kitchen is large too.
The room I have available has been a storage space up until now. It has a single bed in it, but you'd likely want to get your own bed. There are no closets in the room and I think it would fit a double bed if required. There's a garden space that is great in the summer and there's a shed in the garden that's available for storage or to use as an office space if it's wanted.
I am not just looking for any housemate. I am looking for someone who will share space with me as a warm and friendly home. I have 2 daxies (rescues) that are a huge part of my life, so not to sound cliche, but the housemate MUST LOVE DOGS. They are good little critters but it's important to note they will be overcome with excitement and definitely jump on you and squeal with excitement when you get home. If you don't like being adored by dogs, this might not suit you!
I studied psychology and see a handful of private patients (away from the house) but currently work from home as a content designer/AI specialist, and don't entertain at the house. I'm super respectful of noise etc and I am not a party animal.
I am ideally looking for someone to split the costs of living here with me. The apartment is fantastic! I would happily cover the broadband costs but would like to split rent (slightly less for the tenant as I have the bigger room), council tax, water, and electricity/gas costs.
If you're keen or would like to chat, fire a few questions my way!
The ideal co-tent for me is someone who is easy going, has a great sense of humor and is clean and tidy (as I am all these things). I'm open to a housemate who becomes a buddy as I am new to the area (and country), so occasional glass of wine or making dinner together is definitely welcomed behavior!
I get on best with people who have a secure or anxious preoccupied attachment style, and people who are open, friendly, and kind.
