Large fully furnished double room available immediately in a 6-bed student house at 78 College Lane, Hatfield — just a 3 minute walk to the University of Hertfordshire (College Lane campus), 5 minutes to The Galleria, and 2 minutes to the nearest bus stop.
Rent is £450 per month with all bills included. Deposit is £450. The tenancy runs until 28th July.
The room is spacious and located on the ground floor, facing the driveway (quiet side of the house). It comes fully furnished with a queen bed, desk, wardrobe, bedside table, chest of drawers, an extra table with two chairs, and a bookshelf (available but would need assembling). The room is right next to a ground floor toilet and shower, which is very convenient. Heating is good and included in the bills — the house is always kept warm.
The house has 2.5 bathrooms in total (ground floor shower room with toilet, separate upstairs bathroom with bath, plus an additional toilet). There is a large shared living room with a garden view, a garden and driveway, and a washing machine (no dryer). The kitchen is slightly older but fully functional — not huge, but never overcrowded or difficult to use. There is no bike rack, but there is space in the driveway or garden to store a bike.
There are currently 5 other students living in the house (4 in second year and 1 in third year). The house is generally quiet and respectful. Everyone mostly keeps to their own space but is friendly and welcoming, and open to including a new tenant socially. It’s not a party house, but friends are absolutely welcome. If anything louder is planned, everyone communicates beforehand. Casual visits are completely fine. The house is relatively clean but relaxed — dishes are done and put away quickly, bins taken out, floors swept etc., but it’s not overly strict.
Looking for a student only (to avoid council tax complications). Someone reasonably tidy and respectful would be ideal. Communication is appreciated if bringing people over. Smokers are welcome. Pets are not allowed.
I’m moving back home due to deferring from university, so I’m looking for someone to take over my room for the remainder of the tenancy.
