The room is a generous single, large enough to take a double bed, in a characterful period property on historic Tilehouse Street. You're 30 seconds' walk from the town centre with its independent shops, cafes, restaurants and market, and there are four pubs on the street itself, so there's no shortage of social life on your doorstep. Hitchin station is a 20 minute walk with fast trains to King's Cross in around 30 minutes.

The household: it's me, a friendly professional who works from home, my partner, a nurse working in London, and one other lodger who has his own separate space and ensuite at the back of the house, so the bathroom is only shared between three of us.

The terms, please read: the room is available for 3 to 6 months while a house sale completes, with one month's notice on both sides, all agreed in writing upfront. Ideal if you're relocating to the area, between homes, on a work contract or on a placement, and want somewhere genuinely comfortable rather than a stopgap.
