Description
Friend I currently live with will be moving out in October so looking for someone to take over her half of the tenancy. It’s an awesome flat on Holywell Hill so I don’t want to leave! 2min walk to the cathedral and less than 20mins to St Albans City station.
Triplex flat with the first floor above a gallery. Full sized kitchen, living room, main bathroom I use and two big cupboards. Bedrooms are then upstairs. So while it’s a flat feels like a house.
Room is double with en-suite. As it’s a bit smaller than my room (due to the en-suite) my housemate currently has a desk in the living room for working from home so happy for new person to also do this, although can fit one in the bedroom.
My housemate will be taking most of her room furniture and the desk but will leave a wardrobe which fits nicely in the alcove in the room. Double bed and chest of drawers can also be provided if needed unless prefer unfurnished.
Big modern kitchen with washing machine and dishwater. Also have a balcony which gets good sun in the afternoon and great for drying washing in summer.
Rent is £950 each plus bills which are split 50:50. Set bills (council tax band C, broadband and tv licence) are £112 each. Electric/gas then varies between summer and winter (currently £30 each a month, winter more like £75 each a month). Water is quarterly.
Can get a parking permit for a street nearby which is where I park, will need to check cost for a second parking permit.
Neighbours are very quiet, can hear hill traffic at front of the flat but get used to it, won’t hear from the bedroom as the one available is at the back (you will get the unique charm of the cathedral bells as we basically back onto it).
About me…I’m 33 and work in food marketing so can bring home lots of tasty healthy snacks. I’m normally in the office 3/4 days a week and I’m into running (slowly), going to the gym and travelling. There’s lots of great pubs and restaurants in St Albans so always up for evening/weekend drinks and brunching.
