Situated in Waltham Cross only a couple of minutes’ walk to the mainline Waltham Cross station with regular trains into Liverpool Street and also close to Cheshunt Station. There is a bus station just around the corner.

What the Opportunity involves:

In return for the low-cost accommodation (£199 pm), we are looking to match our lovely homeowner with a mature, sensible and respectful sharer, someone who is more than happy to provide a reassuring presence at night and some friendly companionship and a little help at home. No personal care is permitted in a Homeshare.

Our friendly, Italian homeowner is in her early 80’s. She has lived alone since her husband died some years ago and has 4 children and many grandchildren who all adore her, and they are a close family.

She is relatively steady on her feet and still driving, with no specific health issues, although she feels anxious being in the home alone, particularly overnight.

Our homeowner is sociable and friendly and very easy-going. She enjoys the company of others and is keen to share with someone who is happy to spend some time chatting and sharing life experiences, popping to the shops together sometimes, sharing a few meals.

She spends her day mostly at home, watching game shows and Italian television, doing some laundry or cleaning or gardening – she is very house proud - and she often goes to see family who live locally or to do grocery shopping. She cooks from fresh every day, typically with an Italian influence.

A devout Catholic, she prays daily and watches mass on Italian TV, as well as Italian game shows and films; she also enjoys soaps like Emmerdale.

Our homeowner is looking to share her home with a friendly and kind female sharer (preferably age 35/40+) with a good sense of humour who might be working or studying outside the home or on a hybrid basis, who will sleep in the home each night (unless they have a trip planned and can give sufficient notice so that a family member can stay over) and who will be happy to provide some regular friendly company and some practical support, for example local grocery shopping and errands if needed, putting the bins out, help with IT on the iPad.

COST ** £199 per month**
This is a monthly facilitation fee for our matching and ongoing monitoring service. You do NOT pay any rent to the Homeowner. Bills are included, although you may be asked to make a modest contribution to the Homeowner towards the energy bills, and council tax if you are working.
